During Gamescom in Cologne, ASUS unveiled its Z790 motherboards. Out of the three motherboards presented, the ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero and the ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiFi II are equipped with WiFi 7 support.

ASUS emphasized that while these motherboards signify their venture into WiFi 7 support, other manufacturers have already made similar announcements. Technically distinguishing the TUF Gaming Z790-Pro WiFi is its inclusion of AI Overclocking, a utility designed to optimize the overclocking process. Furthermore, these motherboards are compatible with Intel Core CPUs from the twelfth, thirteenth, and upcoming generations.

The advancements also extend to connectivity options. Among the three new models, two now offer support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, reflecting ASUS's commitment to keeping pace with evolving wireless technologies. On the specific ROG Hero board, ASUS has made a strategic alteration. The previously included Hyper M.2 Card has been replaced with an onboard M.2 slot. This slot features a taller heatsink design, reminiscent of configurations observed in certain AMD X670E boards.

ASUS has not yet released specific details regarding the release dates and pricing for these motherboards in USD. More information is anticipated as ASUS progresses in its motherboard technology developments.
