Multi Display Game performance
Multi Display performance
Now we could not leave this article without showing you some numbers on three-monitor performance as well. We'll do this fairly simple, on the page below we note the game and the performance versus resolutions. The image quality settings have not changed over the single monitor performance benchmarks we just did.
Now since we used 1920x1200 monitors we could not span gaming towards three monitors. We instead used a dual-monitor span at 3840x1080 pixels, which is 4.1 Mpixels really. Realistically with three monitors at 5760x1080 you can deduct a third of the performance compared to 3840x1080 pixels, and yeah ... that's not looking too good then.
DX11: Battlefield Bad Company 2
Crysis 2 - DX11 - High Res Textures 4xA
DX10: Anno 1404
DX10: Far Cry 2 8xAA
As you can imagine, the modern titles easily run into performance issues. The older games however work quite well. Realistically with titles like BF3, Crysis 2 etc, you need to look at a 2nd card in SLI mode if you want to keep the true eye-candy.
