Installing - Prepping the Mainboard
Before installing the rig you need to be a little patient. Enable the pump and leave it running for at least 4 hours, after the 4 hours check for any leakage. Don't be afraid to twist and pull the tubing a little, you want to make sure everything is secure, leakage cannot be an option! In our case, not an issue. I actually left it running for a night, it did not have any problems.
Right then, the installation itself. I took the mainboard of our internal file-server (it's a prestige thing, do you own a watercooled file-server? ;). Since that rig is heavily in use the photo's you'll see have a bit of dust on them. This is a Gigabyte mainboard with Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor by the way.
Now then, you can use any Pentium 4 mainboard as longs as it has the Socket 478. Basically the only thing you need to do is remove the retention mechanism mounted onto the mainboard for your CPU fan.
It's really easy, the retention mechanism has four little clips, carefully place a screwdriver under it and rotate the screwdriver. Now the clip will unlock itself from the mainboard. You have to do this with four clips.
This is the result after removing the retention mechanism. We are now ready for installation of the CPU block.
Flip around the mainboard and insert after which we place a plastic washer on the holes and insert 4 metal guides through the mainboard.
