Matro Last Light Frame Experience Analysis

Above, the percentile chart of the 30 seconds gaming @ 2560x1440. Here we plot FPS and place it in relation to percentiles.

  • 50% of the time measured frames is doing 60 FPS.
  • The last 5% of the frames is at 35 FPS or lower.

For those of you that do not understand what you are looking at, the above is a gametime scene recorded for 30 seconds. On this 30 second run the graphics cards all show massive spikes. and thus indicate stutters, we can confirm these as visible on screen. This happens with ALL cards tested at any resolution, so it is Metro game-engine related.

Arguably, SLI is so much faster that the small stutters tend to get faster as well, and that's a good thing. With SLI we see scene shimmering though, that's not good.

With this chart, lower = better. Huge spikes above 40-50ms can be considered a problem like a stutter or indicate a low framerate.
