Introduction

Geekom Mini IT11 (i7-11390H) review
Geekom IT11 Mini PC Series: Core i7 onboard

Geekom is a company based in Taiwan, offering you’ll (mainly) a find a vast range of Mini PCs. We got a Mini IT11 that looks (based on the specs) like a solid one. It features plenty of flexibility with user-upgradeable RAM (up to 64 GB) and storage (up to 2 TB M.2 2280 and 2 TB 2.5” SATA drive). The series offers two CPUs to choose from:

  • I5-1155G7
  • I7-11390H (which we got)

It is possible to get variants ranging from SSDs from 512 GB to 2 TB and RAM from 16 to 32 GB, which should make it easier to find a good one to fit your needs. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, but the Mini IT11 supports also:

  • Linux
  • Android x86
  • FydeOS

It is also possible to install multiple OS on the same machine. Previously we got the possibility to check the AS6 PN53 (with a powerful Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU) and Mini Air 11 (which got the “Great Value” award) with a Celeron N5095 CPU; now it’s time for something from an i7 Intel CPU family.

Mini IT11 is a higher-performance brother of the MiniAir 11, but the chassis looks very similar. Thanks to the small size (11.7 cm x 11.2 cm x 4.56 cm), hiding it behind the monitor/TV should be easy. You can mount it there using the provided VESA bracket. Mini IT11 features a Gigabit Ethernet connector, WIFI 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 2x USB4 ports, HDMI, and mini DisplayPort. Our kit is fitted with RAM (32 GB) and an SSD (2 TB) and is based on the Iris Xe integrated graphics unit (GPU). The Mini IT11 with a 4 cores/8 threads i7 should be enough for normal web browsing and office applications like Word Excel; probably Photoshop shouldn’t be a problem. It’s an energy-friendly platform, as the CPU TDP is 35 W. The Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, so that’s a great deal. We’re testing the unit as supplied by Geekom, an official distributor of this kit.

Intel Core i7-11390H

The CPU belongs to the Tiger Lake (H35) CPU family and is aimed at thin, light gaming notebooks or MiniPCs. It was introduced in Q2’2021 and boasted four (Willow Core) cores and eight threads. The clock speeds fluctuate from a 2.8 GHz (TDP-down) or 3.4 GHz (TDP-up) base to a 5 GHz Max Turbo core boost (for two cores) or 4.6 GHz for all four cores. The i7-11390H features a 35-watt thermal design power (TDP). This CPU is fabricated using Intel’s advanced 7-process technology, 10nm SuperFin. However, this model is priced at a high bracket (469 SUD). The Xe iGPU has 96 Eus enabled, with a clock up to 1400 MHz. Tiger Lake SoCs add PCIe 4 support (four lanes), AI hardware acceleration, and the partial integration of Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 and Wi-Fi 6 in the chip. Let’s check the Geekom Mini IT11 in practice. It was my first time with longer usage of such a device, and I found it very interesting.
