Introduction

GEEKOM AS 6 PN53 Mini PC: AMD-Powered by GEEKOM and ASUS
Geekom AS 6 Mini PC Series: Impressive Configuration with AMD Ryzen 6000H Processors.

GEEKOM and ASUS introduced the GEEKOM AS 6 (PN53), a mini PC powered by AMD technology. The collaboration between these two companies has produced a mini PC that delivers reliable performance, making it suitable for gaming and advanced office applications. The series offers two processors from AMD's Ryzen 6000H series. In addition to the Ryzen 7 6800H, users can opt for the Ryzen 9 6900HX, equipped with eight cores, 16 threads, and a peak clock speed of 4,900 MHz. Geekom's latest line of mini PCs stays true to the brand's tradition by offering compact dimensions, albeit slightly larger than their previous models. Measuring at 120 x 130 x 58 mm, these mini PCs maintain a reasonable size, occupying less than a liter of volume.

The AS 6 features the AMD Radeon Graphics 680M, which yields higher performance than the Intel Iris Xe Graphics in the NUC 13 Pro. Furthermore, the utilization of the latest Radeon graphics technology along with the DDR5 memory enhances the gaming performance, almost double that of the previous generation. The AS 6 Mini PC is thoughtfully designed to ensure performance excellence and is fully compatible with the ASUS Enhanced Software-MyASUS. MyASUS supports their Smart Fan feature, which offers Performance and Quiet modes to regulate fan speeds based on high loads or quiet operation requirements. The self-cleaning fan feature helps to maintain optimal CPU temperatures while ensuring consistent, long-term performance. The AS 6 is equipped with two PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD slots for storage capacities of up to 2 TB. One SSD  (1TB Kongston NVMe) is already installed, and dual-channel DDR5 4800 MHz CL40 memory, makes it capable of managing highly demanding tasks.

This mini PC also embeds the latest WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity options, two USB4 ports, two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and five USB ports, offering a wide range of connectivity solutions.

Ryzen 9 6900HX: Designed for Performance in Compact Laptops

The heart of this MinPC embeds an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, originating from the Rembrandt generation. This processor is built with eight cores rooted in the Zen 3+ microarchitecture, operating at a stable base clock speed of 3.3 GHz and a Turbo speed of up to 4.9 GHz. It also supports SMT/Hyperthreading, enabling a total of 16 threads. The chip's creation follows TSMC's 6 nm process, denoted by the "X" in its label, signifying even overclocking abilities. While the Zen 3+ architecture is an updated version of Zen 3, the chip introduces several novel features such as USB 4, PCI-E Gen 4, DDR5-4800MT/s or LPDDR5-6400MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth LE 5.2, DisplayPort 2, and AV1 decode.  Worth mentioning is the inclusion of the Radeon 680M integrated GPU in this processor. Based on the RDNA2 architecture, it provides 12 CUs and performs at up to 2.4 GHz. As of its release, it was ranked as the fastest integrated GPU available. The Ryzen 9 6900HX's power consumption is regulated with a default TDP of 45 W, marking the long-term power limit. For optimal performance, this CPU requires a robust cooling solution. The processor, produced using TSMC's 6 nm process, brings forth admirable energy efficiency, though the evolution series 7000 is already up and coming as we speak. In an aim to ballet the NUC13 Pro priced at roughly $1000, this AS6 keeps up exceptionally well in performance, and you can spot of for just over $700
