While the appearance and design may not be to everyone's liking, we reasoned why not use the components for a future test system, thus a test bench that doubles as a hot-box (as we can close it). What distinguishes this motherboard is the distinctively designed monoblock, or more precisely, the EK-LiteBlock, which complements rather than replaces the stock heatsink. The water block is connected to the pre-installed heatsinks through thermal pads and cools the heatsink directly rather than the VRM. Costs have been reduced by excluding components from a basic monoblock design. Due to the fact that this design provides sufficient active cooling for the VRM, this motherboard easily competes with higher-end, more expensive variants.
