The X6 Portable SSD with 1TB of capacity was packaged in a small, elegant-looking cardboard box with a gold ribbon. The Crucial logo is in the top left corner of the box, and a picture of the SSD is displayed in the middle of the box.

The amount of storage space available is displayed in the lower-right area, so you can see which SSD model you purchased. The name of the product may be seen on the other side of the package. A white stripe runs along the bottom of the box, highlighting the area towards the bottom of the box.

The SSD is supplemented with a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C to C USB converter, which is also included. A quick start guide is also supplied as part of the installation package. Because of this, the chassis is almost square in shape and somewhat thicker than an inch thick. It is small enough to slip into your pocket and weighs less than 1.5 ounces, making it a very lightweight device.  Despite its plastic structure, the SSD is a durable and long-lasting piece of technology. Although it has a plastic shell, it feels less luxurious than its counterpart, the X8, which has a metal appearance. The SSD is protected by copper foil and features thermal pads on both sides of the printed circuit board (PCB).

The X6 Portable SSD is compatible with and may be formatted to operate with macOS, Windows, and Linux. It is also compatible with the iPad Pro running iOS 13 or later, as well as the iPad Air 2. It supports USB 3.1 Gen2 interfaces and is backward compatible with USB 3.2 Gen1 and USB 3.0 interfaces.
