Technical Specifications and Variants of the Corsair Platform:6 Desk

The Corsair Platform:6 Desk isn't just another desk – it's a blend of clever design and functionality. Standing on a strong metal base, it offers an (optional) height-adjustability feature, thanks to its dual-motor system.

The desktop itself? It boasts a warm walnut finish made from rubberwood, a sustainable choice. And if walnut isn't your thing, there's also a sleek black laminate option. The spacious desktop measures 180 by 76 cm (without any extensions).

It's quite a box to unbox :) Corsair rolls out three versions of this desk, available through your regular shopping outlets. Starting with a fixed-height model that's easy on the pocket at around 1170 euros, you can level up to the adjustable 'Creator' edition under Corsair's Elgato streaming brand for about 1,999 euros. Want to mix and match? Corsair's online configurator lets you design your preferred combination.

Expensive? Perhaps, but that depends on how you look at it. To give you a sense of the market, Beflo Tenon offers a modular table concept hovering around $2500, with an extra $500 for all those fancy accessories. Brands like IKEA do have compact adjustable desks priced roughly at 500 euros, though others go as high as 1200 euros just for the desk legs. For Platform:6 we tested the middle version, the Platform:6 (Wood), we also have received side extensions in the form of a desk extension.  The main desk is 180cm wide, by adding optional extensions, you can boost its surface area by a whopping 33%. Plus, with side pegboards, your organization game steps up another notch allowing you to hook and hang stuff onto.

Diving a little deeper into the features, each Corsair Platform:6 desk has a 'T-channel' rail at the back. Perfect for the two monitor arms (included at default) it comes with, or even a microphone arm. The intermediate version offers height adjustability with memory positions but doesn't have the top-mounted frame you'll see in the Elgato version. Speaking of Elgato, this version can also accommodate add-ons like Elgato keylights or cameras.  Personally, I would have preferred an option with three monitor arms as this desk is very wide and surround gaming is a bit of a more preferred option.

Need more space or organization? You've got options: a 30 cm side shelf for your desktop PC or a vertical 'pegboard' to hang anything from backpacks to headphones on. And to keep those pesky cables in check, there's a peg rack tucked under the desk, concealed behind a panel that matches the desktop's finish. If you're tech-savvy, there's a spot for a power strip with both USB-A and -C ports, either within the rack or on the rail, depending on how you want it and install it.
