On the I/O back panel, the motherboard features the Intel Wi-Fi 7 wireless network module with 2 x 2 antennas, supporting 2.4 / 5 / 6GHz frequency bands and integrated Bluetooth v5.4. ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI II comes with the latest Wi-Fi 7 BE202, which is compatible with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be.
The Wi-Fi 7 Ecosystem is newly added with 6GHz band which includes 7 extra 160MHz channels. Theoretical network transmission speed reaches 5.8Gbps. ASUS introduces the ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna directional antenna, emphasizing higher transmission rates and plug-and-play functionality without locking requirements. Other design and material aspects remain consistent.
The dual-network solution combines Wi-Fi 7 and Ethernet networks, utilizing the Intel I226-V controller. Notably, the primary 2-port USB Type-C is Thunderbolt 4, and ASUS does not employ third-party display signal input mixing.
Display outputs are HDMI and DP, but rely on the processor's internal display capabilities. USB configurations include Two USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 outputs onboard to enable 20Gbs USB transfer speed, with one Type-C at rear and one Type-C connector at front supporting fast charge PD 3.0 up to 30W, with an output of max. 3A on 5V/9V, and max. 2.5A on 12V.
The audio solution employs the USB-based Realtek ALC4080 codec, supporting sample rates of up to 24-bit 384kHz. It delivers a high-quality output with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 120dB for output and 113dB for input. Notably, the codec incorporates a headphone amplifier, capable of producing 2Vrms output, and possesses the capacity to detect the impedance of connected headphones.
For the front panel output, it is powered by the Savitech SV3H712 amplifier in conjunction with the Nichicon Fine Gold Premium audio capacitor. This combination provides a drive capability of up to 600 Ohms, ensuring precise positioning and outstanding dynamics that enhance the gaming experience and deliver proper audio.
