a great review for a very nice mobo however this begs the question of investing in a dead-end socket with a new socket, cpu, and chipset due this time next year.

Honestly, that was the standard for a decade. Sounds like basic "Intel" anyway. 😀

:p totally. which i why i went and bit the bullet for AM5. i know it's good for at least the next two gens. i'm about to do the same for mobile - which is a total departure for me. i've been reliant on Intel/Nvidia for decades for mobile. now that AMD finally has a performance solution for mGPUs, there is a reason for me not to buy an xx80/xx70 gpu solution. the rx7800m finally shows that a performance tuned and undervolted mobile solution is better than the desktop variant rx7800, at least in gaming. that is a first in mobile from any maker. this is as good as or better than the rtx4080m - which is my favorite gpu design from Nvidia of Lovelace. the only reason i haven't bought one yet is the configuration of the laptop and cpu choices

Whats the point of covering up and shielding everything on motherboards these days? I hate it, love the look of the old school motherboards when everything was exposed
