FCAT Frame Experience Analysis Shadow of Mordor

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Frame Experience Analysis

16500_per

Above, the percentile chart of the 55 seconds gaming. Here we plot FPS and place it in relation to percentiles.

  • 50% of the time measured frames is doing roughly 80 FPS, which would be the average framerate.

For Shadow of Mordor we rendered at a 150% super-sampled resolution (like DSR/VSR) close to 2560x1440, and down-scaled it to Full HD to be able to FCAt it. That way we make it harsh on the GPU, the higher and more straight the line, the better.

Even supersampled at 150% on this 41 second run (roughly the length of the internal benchmark) the graphics card manages to remain below 16 ms (here lower is better), we see no stuttering in the chart. Again, with this chart, lower = better as the faster one frame is rendered, the lower latency will be. Huge spikes above 40 ms to 50 ms can be considered a problem like a stutter or indicate a low framerate.

Above, you can see a showcase example of perfect rendering.
