Yeah, just flash another firmware on it, just in case.

I've got a Xiaomi electric scooter, It's excellent quality and I was surprised how close in design it was to the Segway model. Until I noticed they also own half of Segway. They seem to be one of those companies that have "fingers in a lot of pies".

Does it comes with "surprise" features??? I only remember this: After cheap phones, now they think BIG with cheap routers...:p
Well... we already know the US and China spy on everyone they can, and we know that any large enough country also does their share of spying so... why complain specifically about Xiaomi or Huawei when you already know that most countries and important brands in general are in fact in on it? Is China's spying any worse than US, Russia or the UE spying? If so, how so?

You should see the list of things they already make. Most of it is only for the domestic market but they make almost everything you can think of.

Would rather be American with router that spy's on me to China than American with router that spy's in me to American government. This is why I'm not worried.

There is a lot of reports regarding this issue - that Chinese companies invest a lot in foreign companies to access their tech and then use it in their own products therefore saving on R&D but also to get access to foreign customers and their digital footprints.

Awesome at this price, £103 delivered to the UK, this is now on my must have list, Virgins modem/ router is rubbish.

You know the way Sony normally sells the Playstations at an initial loss (loss leader) so that they can get them into as many target homes as possible... now I'm not saying these are cheap because they are subsidized by Chinese state intelligence services but I'm not saying they aren't /s But as others have said I would prefer my hardware report back to China than report back to USA, so we all make our choices!

Classical case of Whataboutism.

There was a reason that made wikileaks....and the US military hates it. So does CIA, as they are jelous as how they could be tapped. I actually trust the Chinese more than I trust the US.

Bad mindset, the US aren't planning 200+ years in the future for world domination in brutal dystopian fashion, just casual bullshit forced through garbage like SJWism for control. The Chinese however... I actively avoid Chinese products whenever possible which makes it extremely hard to buy anything. Too bad our (Canadian) government are a bunch of pussies who do virtually nothing about China. They're more concerned about their luxury vacations and sports cars.

$85 plus privacy seems like a fair deal.

Seems like a good deal, Xiaomi put out some good phones for really cheap. I've had enough of my broadband providers router and it's been a while since I last used my own one. My provider uses a ZTE router which has been awesome for the last few years but now it's just so slow.

Does it bother you for any reason? You seem to say it as if it weren't true or it wasn't relevant.
