Yea but it's on the surface and all we got to see on this amazing live stream was a silent feed of some guys staring at screens that we couldn't even see Pointless streaming it really, thought we would get some sort of video feed of the landing
Pictures will come later, I don't think they fitted it with live streaming cameras.

I don't even think they have the bandwidth to stream a video. Not to mention that they do massive post processing to the pictures to clean them up.

Shame, first ever time this has happened, you'd think they'd have put the effort in

It's got these cameras, but as I recall from mars rover in 2012, images take quite a while to come back (longer in this case), get cleaned up, corrupt data scrubbed and combined back into a single image. These are the camera modules on it.
ÇIVA The Comet Nucleus Infrared and Visible Analyzer is a group of six identical micro-cameras that take panoramic pictures of the surface. Each camera has a 1024×1024 pixel CCD detector. A spectrometer studies the composition, texture and albedo (reflectivity) of samples collected from the surface. ROLIS The Rosetta Lander Imaging System is a CCD camera that will obtain high-resolution images during descent and stereo panoramic images of areas sampled by other instruments. The CCD detector consists of 1024×1024 pixels.
Scientist man just said that the anchors did not shoot, or at least anchor in, so I guess it might float off perhaps. It'll be there a while at least, enough to get some data. Talking about reshooting them.

The KSP skills are strong with these ones. 😀

Unfortunately the harpoons did indeed not fire, and with the thruster on top broken they're now faced with the problem of staying on the comet. If they do fire them (without the landing momentum) then the probe could be pushed off if they don't work as intended or if the ground is too soft since the gas thruster wouldn't be able to counteract that force, if they don't fire them then I would think they would eventually be thrown off with the spin. You do know it's millions of miles away don't you? It's also only got really old tech compared to what we have now, it only has a 4mp camera which at the time it was made was a lot.

It's crazy when you realise that both objects are travelling around 40000 mph. The math involved must be astronomical.

Lander status is unknown it seems, they're going to check overnight to try resolve the attachment issue.

I don't get it, what does that have to do with my post?:tux:
Not directly but it shows when it went up there and how far it is away generally. Plus it's awesome.

Ah I see, I got distracted watching it and the planets move. I get easily distracted:D it's amazing how they got to it, I watched a program about it the other day, it's impresive that they even got to it.:)
