I guess we can't expect anything else from CDPR since CP2077 fiasco. They should just commit seppuku, they've failed massively.

Just installed and it crashed and took out my Radeon drivers as well. x 2 error reports. Hope they offer a roll back soon.

With RTGI it's a different game ๐Ÿ˜€ RT ON vs OFF
Not sure if serious or sarcastic? It's the same exact game but now with crushed shadows under the table, bench and bucket.

And the torch casting orange/yellow light on every surface, then bounces off carrying the color of the surfaces it bounced off? just look at Geralt's armor

The team that worked on the ps4 version of cyberpunk was obviously put in charge of this update.

CPR being CPR more news at 11 I remember that this game had problems with tessellation when it came out(dont know if they ever fixed it) you had to manually lower tessellation from X64 to X16 from the video card console
Yeah because AMD's tessellation performance was godawful and it took them like 3 generations to fix it.

I am lucky, everything is fine on my computer, only issue were sort of shuttering with the AMD driver 22.11.2, passing back to old WHQD solve the issue of shuttering. RT is ok but eat too much to bring so few... doesn't use it anyway.

You dont put something unnecessary like X64 tessellation for the hair when it looks exactly the same at X16, affecting your potential buyers and the reviews unless you are incompetent as a developer or you get payed to do something like that. Thatยดs like forcing beyond x16 in anisotropic filtering, you would barely see a difference beyond it(if you are even capable of seeing one)

From a visual standpoint, the update is top notch. RT global illumination in particular makes the game look much better, especially when combined with the other effects. From a performance standpoint though, it's another matter entirely. If my 4090 didn't have FG, then I wouldn't be able to run at 4K maxed settings above 60 FPS at all times even with DLSS active. And that's not necessarily due to the 4090's shortcomings, it's because the game's DX12 implementation is not very good from a CPU utilization standpoint. Other than being extremely graphic intensive, ray tracing can also be CPU intensive due to the CPU's role in setting up and maintaining BVH structures which are necessary for ray tracing. But in the Witcher 3 (and in Callisto Protocol), the CPU multithreading is abysmal so the CPU can't keep the GPU at maximum output. Original Witcher 3 in DX11 mode had better multithreading than the Witcher 3 DX12 update I swear! ๐Ÿ™„

The original release of this game was a bug ridden mess, given time they sorted it out.

I don't remember this. I just remember the downgrade it got from preview trailers. At least they've been consistent then.

I think i not need to buy any new product from CD Projekt RED in the future.

Game have bugs, and some visual glitches, but im surprised how good this game works, on my old 1080ti strix, 1440p, all ultra+, dx12, average 70fps, 40-50 in town.

It's almost as if the game was made in 2015 ๐Ÿ˜€ I get its a modded version by default now basically, but sadly i've had the reverse mine already had the mod they have put onto the game and gone from 144+ fps in most cases, to scraping around 100fps even inside a room. that drops to 50 with RT

This comment about seppuku is neither appropriate or fun
I'm sorry my comment made you uncomfortable. It was meant as a jest and you should ignore and go on with your life. Have a good one.

Game works for me no issue. Manually adding Witcher to River Tuner + custom 3d support flag doesnt work to get OSD to work. Radeon Overlay OSD does work. Game does look nice. Surprised how well it runs with Ray Tracing on with a 6800xt.
The Witcher 3 12_15_2022 5_04_15 PM.jpg
Yes 6800xt is only on par with 3070 RT, but to say AMD is two gens behind with RT when 7900xt is hitting 3090ti RT is pure idiocy.

Ultra+ on 3090 butter smooth

The game runs smooth on my system even with RT, but i got a CTD once.

for me on my uncles pc a i5 8400 and 1050ti, it ran horrible and it crashed and froze. only thing that made run accectable on system was low setting with FSR ultra performance which made it look like 720p horror show and still didnt get close to 60fps. playing in DX11 mode didnt really help much either I sure 1050ti underpower for W3 never mind "nexgen" update, but this is another CD Projekt RED release that was a mess, would think they learned something with 2077.

Yes, when the game was launched .. and it got fixed. Here they took the fixed game, downgraded shading effect (gamma and post processing corrections, details and resolution of particle effects etc) and added ray tracing along with a lot of bugs and issues. They ruined a game that was good by its own. Instead they should fix the CP2077 NPC IA and path-tracing, and all other issues that game still has... AND I still wanna see Lady Gaga performing Pon Pon Shรฌt!
