Huh, so they are going to release an octa-core variant; wasn't expecting that. Loophole35, you got your wish. 🙂

Yes I did. And at the price I was hoping. Now let's see how the quad channel memory effects the infinity fabric.

I want to know if it is 8 cores in 1 zepelin or 4 and 4

Everything I've read indicates all TR CPUs have 4 "live" CCX's (so two active zeppelins). Each CCX houses a RAM memory controller so for quad channel you need 4 active. This indicates 1900x is 2+2+2+2, 1920x is 3+3+3+3 and 1950x is 4+4+4+4. Hilbert on the second page you have 1900x l3 as 2x8MB but have it stated as 32MB in the chart. Can you clarify? Also when you test will you do a comparison between TR specific blocks and adapted blocks?

Oh boy what an awesome platform ! Loving it . I'm really , really interested in the quad channel memory bandwidth. I believe overclocking on this cpus will be more or less equal to Ryzen 7 , meaning top OC ~ 4.0Ghz , 4.1Ghz pending good cooling ( 32 threads at 4.1Ghz + 32GB of DDR4-3466Mhz Cas 14 and you are golden and set for many , many years to come ! 😀 )

not disappointed with my ryzen 1700 build at all. with the price of ddr4 right now i will wait to build a threadripper rig.

1900 will cost 550 + (300++) for the motherboard while the 1700 cost 320 +100~200 for the motherboard ... if you are not in need for the pci lanes i do not see the reason someone to be disappointed at all

These things are an insane value.

I'll wait to spell my judgement after I see what quad channel does for Ryzen.

on newegg you can get the 1700 for 299 now. i think they dropped prices a bit on all ryzen 7 cpu's when they announced threadripper edit: 290 on amazon

I actually believe, not at all. You'll get linear scaling from a 1800x. So if you get that octocore, you'll most likely have much higher connectivity, and possibly a tiny bit less performance, or the same as a 1800x.

If you are right then back to waiting for me. If you are wrong however 1900x you look so pretty.

A company doing a sale on a product does not = the company who makes said product lowering the MSRP of the product.
