When the customer sees the Gold diamond encrusted rgb laden memory and says " thats not for me" thats a lost sale, even if you can turn it off.
That argument really only applies when the tacky option is the only option.

Not without software.
Software should be optional. RGB should be operable either via a BIOS or a central/unified hub. I find it ridiculous how many of these things have their own proprietary method over the most basic functionality, and it doesn't help that a lot of this software is severely bloated. I avoid RGB simply due to the lack of any protocol or standard. I would like to use the LEDs as a rudimentary hardware monitor, like to show certain temperatures for example. I'm not willing to install hundreds of MB worth of software for something that could be easily achieved in less than 2MB.

Teamgroup, the company that sells this ram doesn't sell any ddr5 that isn't sporty or gaudy(nothing on their website ) atm, not even green sticks, so yes that is actually the case here. if they don't offer anything like this they will lose sales to other companies.

Maybe not green but they do sell at least plain black ones: https://www.newegg.com/team-16gb/p/N82E16820331856?Description=teamgroup&cm_re=teamgroup-_-20-331-856-_-Product As well as models that don't have RGB. Granted, none of them are high-end.

Good lawd!...I knew DDR-5 was expensive but damn! https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007611 601396890 That's crazy^!!!
Yep... and these prices are actually lower than what they used to be. I paid $80 for my 16GB DDR4 kit. I'm not willing to pay double for something that won't be that much better.

Yep...computer gaming has changed a lot and no doubt it will keep on changing but when ram starts costing more than a top-end processor? just when we thought the new graphics cards were expensive! Dear Lord: Please have mercy on the PC Gamer!....:D

Hey buddy, sorry if a quick question, but is ddr5 that much faster than ddr4?...($)....Blunt question I know... PS: sorry about asking for a layman terms answer.

Now more than ever, the answer to that is "it depends". First and foremost: DDR5 currently has worse performance-per-dollar. So, if you want the best value, DDR5 today is a bad choice. I predict in another year or two, the prices will calm down a bit, especially when chip shortages aren't so severe. However, DDR5 will never be cheaper than DDR4, and not because of things like supply issues or inflation, but because ECC is a default configuration. Many would say that's a worthwhile added expense. If that still doesn't answer your question: Do you have a CPU with a giant cache like a 5800X3D? If so, DDR5 isn't worth the expense. Are you satisfied with gaming at 60FPS? If so, DDR5 doesn't really matter. Do you want more than 24 theads? Maybe get DDR5. Do you find yourself running out of VRAM? Seriously consider DDR5.
