There are a few new leaked slides showing the Tflops, looks like about a ~20% uplift over a ref rx 480,
could be worse. this is one of those cards for people that haven't upgraded from something like a 280 or 380,
reminds me alot of the hd 4890. its a not for everyone, but its an o.k. product.

I'm looking to replace my RX470.... Hopefully we'll see reviews come along soon...

There no way this cards get close to GTX1070/Vega56 performance. AMD would cannibalize it own product.
This is to fill the gap between RX580 and Vega56. No idea if it targeted for 1440p or 1080p.

Can someone explain to me how a core clock increase of 22% compared to the RX 480 gives you 81% more performance in Black Ops 4 or 43% more in Monster Hunter World?
What kind of BS marketing is that?

Eh, 580 prices vary from $200-$260-ish, I also think people are maybe confusing the 4GB cards--which are the only ones selling for ~$200-$210--with the 8GB cards. I want to look @ a couple of 590 reviews when they hit. I'd like to see a bit of IPC improvement with this card as well as the clock improvement. Still, for $250 and X-Fire/8GB, these little puppies are hard to beat, imo.

I suspect these RX 590 cards aren't truly 2K candidates, but I bet they wouldn't totally embarrass themselves, either. It would seem that on the Nvidia side, the RX 590 would represent a tangible improvement for anyone with a 3Gb 1060 or less. On the AMD side, perhaps a 4Gb RX 480 or less, with the very possible exception of the R9 390X, which according to the charts above, appears to be damn-near immortal.
As to if it would be a worthwhile investment? That can only be determined by the individual user, given what their game library is now and within the foreseeable future. With all the ongoing unavailability of sensibly-priced, mid-range cards for so long, there just might be an audience for something like this now, and that audience may be willing to go for something slightly more upscale. Frankly, $279 doesn't seem outrageous to me.
I mean, six months ago, people would have sold their souls for this level of performance for under $300 USD. (Some undoubtedly did.) Toss in three good (?) games, and the widespread proliferation of FreeSynch monitors, and it seems pretty sensible to me, *if* I was already willing to spend, say, $230 USD to begin with.
