Some newer motherboards don't even allow you to install Windows XP. ๐

8.1 runs just fine on the Turion64 ML-34 single core CPU in my 2005 vintage laptop. I can't see why a newer dual core chip would be incompatible.
I see in the article that it only applies to the 64 bit version of Windows 8.1. I'm using the 32 bit flavor since the previous OS on the machine was XP Pro 32 bit and I figured 32 bits would be faster on an old CPU.
