As you guys know Nvidia will launch a GeForce GTX 780 Ti next week. Which is going to be a fast product alright. But that release will still make the regular GTX 780 a little pale compared towards the R9 290. Word on the street now is that Nvidia will release a GeForce GTX 780 GHz edition to counteract the AMD releases. So that's next to the 780 Ti release.

Facebook to Tests Software that Tracks Mouse pointer on Screen

Facebook wants to know EVERYTHING. Facebook Inc. is testing technology that would greatly expand the scope of data that it collects about its users, the head of the company’s analytics group said Tuesday. he social network may start collecting data on minute user interactions with its content, such as how long a user’s cursor hovers over a certain part of its website, or whether a user’s newsfeed is visible at a given moment on the screen of his or her mobile phone, Facebook analytics chief Ken Rudin said Tuesday during an interview.

AMD just posted yet another Beta driver tagged as Download AMD Catalyst 13.11 BETA 8. Apparantly these fix a crashing issue with battlefield 4. Other then that nothing is known about them just yet. This Beta driver works with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. We have a discussion thread open on this driver right here. Again a new release, in this round it includes all the features found in the previous betas and brings improved (by up to 20%) CrossFire scaling in EA's Battlefield 4. The Catalyst 13.11 Beta 8 is available for Windows 8.1/8/7 and offers support for the Radeon R9, R7, HD 7000, HD 6000 and HD 5000 Series cards.

AMD Radeon R9 290 Launch Delayed by a week

Yesterday AMD informed its partners and the press that the AMD Radeon R9 290 non X model of the card will be delayed and it is now scheduled to be released somewhere next week. The reason is that Nvidia lowered its prices massively on the 770 and 780. AMD thinks that with a new driver they can tweak the 290 card a little more.

AMD Radeon R9 290X review updated with thermal imaging

With the recent release of the AMD Radeon R9 290X high heat levels became an apparant yet acceptable factor. We now have updated our article with a page on thermal imaging. We bought a new heat sensitive camera that will tell everything temperature related.  We can seek hotspots on the PCB indicating for example GPU but also VRM temperature as well as how heat is distributed throughout a product. We do hope you will enjoy this new technology as it did cost us an arm and a leg to be able to implement it. Thermal imaging will be a standard segment of Guru3D's articles starting today.

Aqua Computers latest addition to their full cover water blocks is the kryographics Hawaii for R9 290X cards. The block is entirely made in Germany and milled from 1kg high-purity electrolytic copper raw material. It covers the GPU, all RAM chips and the voltage regulators. All areas are covered by the flow path of the cooling liquid to provide an excellent cooling performance. The GPU is covered by a micro structure with a 0.5mm grid. To efficiently cool down the voltage regulators this block also features the 3D flow technique which uses a lateral flow path to transport water through the Plexiglas directly to this array.

It is reported that Call of Duty: Ghosts will run native 1080p on PlayStation 4 and upscaled 720p on Xbox One.Multiple sources from around the web report that while Call of Duty: Ghosts has been confirmed to run at a native 1080p on PlayStation 4, there's growing evidence that the Xbox One version will natively run at 720p, but will be upscaled.

Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2 getting 4.3 + Gear support 'in the coming weeks

Samsung has confirmed that the "premium suite" update pack for the Galaxy S4, S3 and Note 2 will be arriving on U.S. devices "in the coming weeks." The update includes Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch and Samsung's new KNOX enterprise security layer. According to today's press release some devices will start receiving the update today - and although no specific devices or carriers are mentioned, the leaked timetable points to today being the day for the Verizon Galaxy S4. Elsewhere, international Galaxy S4s started receiving their Android 4.3 updates a couple of weeks back, and these also included Galaxy Gear and KNOX support. Samsung also tells us the U.S. Galaxy S4 Active, S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega will receive similar updates "in the months ahead."
