NVIDIA just let us know that the announced GeForce GTX 780 Ti will be available November 7th for $699. Other then that little is know about the product as specifications have not yet been shared. More news though as the new suggested e-tail price for GTX 780 is $499 and GTX 770 is $329. You can see that competition always drives down price, thanks toe the AMD R9-290 release for that.

AMD to release Kaveri APUs half February 2014

AMD will announce the 28nm Kaveri APU on December 5th but they won't be available onto the market until half February 2014. AMD originally expected to start supplying its Heterogeneous System Architecture (HAS) Kaveri APUs in the second half of 2013, but according to the company's latest plans, the CPU maker will only provide two A10 and one A8 APU pilot production samples to its clients in December.

Oh that's hot :) The GeForce GTX 780 Ti that NVIDIA announced at the editors day could very well be faster then a Titan. Leaked 3DMark 11 scores posted on XtremeSystem claim that the GTX 780 Ti will be at least 5 percent faster than the GTX TITAN in the test, and so NVIDIA is aiming to make the chip a faster alternative to the GTX TITAN.

AMD to update R9 280X with Tahiti XTL based GPUs

AMDs R9 280X might still be using the oritinal 7970 GHZ edition XT2 Tahiti GPU and replace it with Tahiti XTL next month. Apparantly the Tahiti XTL GPU was not ready for the launch and all current Radeon R9 280X graphics cards ended up with the Tahiti XT2 GPU instead. Various sources confirm that AMD will do a, so called, "running change", where there will be no announcements and no name change for the new GPU and the only way you would be able to tell which GPU is behind the R9 280X is by its BIOS version.

Radeon R9 290 Performance Figures Leaked by OCUK

Though we can't be sure about the validity of these benchmarks, OCUK decided to leak the results for the Radeon R9-290 (non x model). In a chart where they conveniently 'blur' the 290 name. This card will be the affordable product in the Hawaii product stack. Judging from the results the R9-290 beats NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 780 in synthetic benchmarks.

Some older AMD CPUs do not support Windows 8.1

There are reports that a number of old AMD processors from the Athlon X2 64 and Opteron 185 series do not support the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 due to lack of support for the CMPXCHG16b instruction. Now please be aware that only the earliest AMD64 processors do not support this. You always have the option of installing the 32-bit version of Windows 8.1 if you really want to update such an ancient system to the latest version of Windows.
