Just wish the price on the 590's were better.

What's chance that chips which did not pass binning for RX-590 are going to be in RX-580. There may be quite a few power efficient chips now.

It would be illogical, think about AMD's profits. RX 590 should be and correctly it is more expensive than rival's GTX 1060 because it is much faster in every game and application, it can't get any lower than that. There is always the option of RX 580, it is still for sale as RX 500 series gpu.

You can always get a 580, prices are right.

the RX 590 is a good deal for now, especially factoring in free-sync. but in reality this is a placeholder card that helps AMD finish out a contract with GloFlo. there will be a Navi card for both more and less money that will be much more efficient, but if you're building right now, the 590 is a safe bet playable all the way to 1440p.

Its a terrible deal, theres no way the over 2 year old 480 should be this expensive now.

I agree, only vega makes sense from AMD at the moment. Everyone should be able to find Vega 64 under 549$ and Vega 56 under 399$, so it's an easy pick. Polaris is worthless as f**k.

just a fact, not to inflame anyone or anything. we're talking about a gpu that with a free-sync monitor is less than the price of a Vega, which i like as a gpu. there is a market of gamers with limited funds and the 590 can be bundled with a monitor online under $500. they can still get a 580, but the 590 is better in every way. yeah you can argue perceived value where the 580 comes out on top. but c'mon the operative word is gamer. and if you're into the game, want best results, but don't know how to tune a rig this is a slam dunk.

I agree, you can run easily a cheap fsync monitor with normal res, under 500$ and that's bang for buck. I was talking about someone already has a proper rig with monitor installed, not a new setup. An advanced user - informed gamer would go with a gpu over 350$ for a lot of reasons. 🙂

It's fascinating to me how much local pricing seems to differ when it comes to the current range of GPUs! For example, right now a 590 will cost you 3100 to 3300 SEK (the Strix is 4200 but that's just ridiculous) and a Vega 56 is 3900 to 4200 SEK. Meanwhile you can get the 8GB 580 for 2600 to 2900 SEK (or as high as 3700 to 4000 SEK but again, ridiculous). The 590 is an amazing card, king of the upper midrange for sure, but given the local pricing it's damn hard to recommend over a Vega 56 or one of the cheaper 580s.

We have: RX 570 (4G-ITX) for 4000,- (1600SEK) RX 580 for 5900,- (2360SEK) RX 590 for 7600,- (3040SEK) Vega 56 for 11000,- (4400SEK) Vega 64 for 14000,- (5600SEK) Minimal wage here is 10500,- and average 22500,- after all taxes. Here I would say to get RX580 over RX590 any day. Almost no reason to look at lower GPUs than that anyway. Even 6 months ago, those cards did cost between 50% more and double of that. Therefore, you can expect some adjustment or shop outside of country.

Yeah, I think GPU pricing only stabilized during the fall pretty much on a global scale. Not too dissimilar prices overall, it seems Vega is comparatively more expensive in many places compared to here (Sweden) though.

Best update of this card is memory clock, RX500 has VRAM bottleneck
