I have an 840 evo 1tb for my game drive and haven't noticed any problems to speak of. Receny games can have slow load times of maybe 15 seconds at worat but lots of recent games have had massive file sizes, use close to 4gb vram and poor optimisation seems to be in fashion so I don't think it is the hard drive.

Hey guys, pretty annoyed at Samsung for being morons about this. I have 4 SSD's in my rig 500GB 840 Evo 250GB 840 Evo 250GB 840 240GB Sandisk Ultra Here are the results I got using the HD Tach program. The 250GB 840 EVO seems to be suffering a bit by th elooks of things but I can not realy be sure i guess.... annoyed. Will not be buying another Samsung SSD again. http://i.imgur.com/UHTg1o6.jpg?1 What do YOU guys things?

Interesting, just ran HD Tach on my 840 and these are the results http://i878.photobucket.com/albums/ab347/laughingman09/evo840_zpsebtidcig.jpg Ran the restoration and firmware tools on the drive when I got it brand new end of October last year. I am no expert on HD or SSDs so does anyone have any opinions on what these results are saying? 100Mb/s drop off in 3 months?
Looks like you lost 275MB/s from 30-450 gigs.

Yeah that's written data location I assume since the drive is around half full not really sure why it would suffer from such a speed hit though.

the gsync thing is pure bull. Just someone enabling the gsync option, doesn't actually make the monitor gsync stuff

My two Samsung 840's are over 12 months old and both are working great with the latest firmware.

I bought 2x r9 290x's they were both faulty then got 2 gtx970 and now I read this about my SSD lol so all the good hardware I bought in 2014 turns out not to be quite as good ... well all I can do is laugh 🙂

I've been fine with RAPID enabled. I never saw degrading performance on my 1TB.

Yup a 120gb as my os drive, 240gb with games and another 120gb in my laptop. All had slowed down to about 50-60mb read speeds after I tested them 🙁 Not sure if the new fw has fixed it long term yet or not as only ran the restoration tool recently.
