C'mon lads. Game streaming is the inevitable future of consoles. No need for upgrading HW ever. Surely better profits for the big guys.

It's possible, just read on Cnet that Microsoft will stop making X-box. Which is a good news for PC gaming.

No they will stop making Xbox 360's, not consoles altogether.

Streaming can and never will replace a dedicated box. The quality and bandwidth just won't get there. Not to mention the potential glitches during encoding/decoding. I can't see it ever overtaking it. Not to mention, people want to actually have their games in some form or another. Not just a digital streaming subscription crap. What I feel this means is that potentially everything after PS4 will just be upgrades to the PS4. Maintaining compatibility for software and games. And I think that would be a great thing to do. Successful enough, they could get AMD to create more custom CPUs that are more powerful than the pitiful Jaguar but be drop in replacements maintaining compatibility. Once you get passed the first revision. (Neo) and on to the 3rd, the 3rd oldest in line is phased out and games are no longer allowed to be made for that system. But all games made for that are still compatible/updatable on the newest one. Making the 2nd in line the new baseline model. And repeats each time, every 4-5 years. Moving each revision downward a spot to be phased out. That said, Sony still really needs to work on how they handle Digital Libraries of games. I've yet to see anyone make anything work even remotely as well as PC clients do like Steam/Origin/Galaxy for making your library easy to access and easy to see what you actually own.

maybe this is good thing for compabitly of old games but still dont like the idea, and if console ever become cloud based gaming, I will be done, I like to OWN physical disc of the games I have
