Rockstar being assholes as always i expect game to be released on consoles and milk them for a few years then when everyone is little fed up release the enhanced ver on pc to avoid riot then release it again on next gen consoles and some handhelds and so on...

At least they are not pulling a cd projekt to overhype showing graphics and gameplay mechanics they are not sure yet if they will manage to pull off. Other than that long development is nothing bad, when ever rockstar is directly involved the games are good. But we will see , they sure burned a lot of goodwill with the people by pulling the old gtas of the store going after modders that made the old games look much better than what they released ,to then turn and release em as an overpriced turd of a package on 60 bucks ! They handed the definitive editions to a 3rd party studio so it seems they did not even playtest the work of that studio :/

how much time will have passed since gta5 launched on ps until gta6 is ready ? a howler monkey's lifespan is 15 years, some might not make it.
Yeah.. right? I have lost my half of early adulthood over GTA 5. Besides, i hoped Rockstar would atleast release a DLC with complete setsbof storyline like they did in GTA 4; which they never did

Why should it matter? GTA V is still a beautiful game, so the argument that the graphics are dated is on shaky ground. And it's working perfectly well on current machines so the technical issues argument is not great. GTA is not a usual franchise. You don't have recurring characters, you don't have special mechanics, you don't even have a certain graphic style. You could argue that the only thing it has, is a specific feel to it. Given this, if there was a shortage of a GTA like experiences on the market, some competitor could have intervened and supplied that demand. I haven't noticed anything matching that description and I'm guessing this is what the devs of GTA also noticed. My final point is that I'd much rather have the devs take their time and make a new game when they actually have something new, not just recycle an old game just with higher numbers. And considering the effort GTA V had put into it, it would be a shame for its successor to be aborted unto the market the way cyberpunk was.
