Another way to look at it might that, they are tired of supporting it and want to support a new version. The timing is interesting, as, I wonder if their mathematicians have calculated the recurring revenue will be below X in 2025 for the current GTA franchise, and that for a continuation of profit, they need a new GTA game by Y date to hit Z profitability. Rockstar are interesting as a company and are unique with their relationship with Take2, as Rockstar do all of their own marketing for their games published under the Take2 publishing banner. No one else has that power and control.

The people posting stuff like "FINALLY" make dumb and dumber look like rocket scientists. GTA V getting a lot of support over a long time period is NOT A BAD THING. GTA V not releasing 15 editions of itself like one creatively bankrupt company that shall not be named is NOT A BAD THING. GTA V being offered for free over the years is NOT A BAD THING. GTA franchise as a whole not switching to FIFA or NBA stile numbering by releasing a new game every year is NOT A BAD THING. The only thing that is arguably not great is that they released V on the new consoles in 2022 without announcing a sequel is in the works. Considering they've been working on it since 2015 and haven't got a release date scheduled yet I'd argue the real fanbase would have been more upset over GTA VI being vaporware than a 9yo game getting released on a new console. You're a bunch of whiny miserable people and you should be ashamed of your posts.

Knowing MS, they'll name it the "Original Xbox", they'll eventually also have a "First Xbox", to make sure no one can tell if you're referring to the actual original Xbox or one of the newer ones.

IDK about you, but most people express happiness or excitement by commenting on the upcoming game, not negative comments on the long life of it's predecessor. And this represents a lot the comments I saw. Which made the comment section as a whole look like a bunch of howler monkeys who seem to be upset over something happening finding conflicting reasons why the news was bad. I admit that the last GTA remaster release was a definite letdown but as a whole Rockstar has made good decisions for its customers over the years.

how much time will have passed since gta5 launched on ps until gta6 is ready ? a howler monkey's lifespan is 15 years,some might not make it.
