* We are migrating towards a new test platform based on the Core i9 9900K - 32 GB DDR4 - Z390. As older benchmarks lowly phase-out, new ones will be tested at 9900K platform. This game has been tested on the new platform.
I like that!!! 🙂
Undying:

Great review but uninsteresting card.
@jbscotchman will reply sooner or later.

The 1660 Ti is a very interesting card. Strange naming, and sort of hybrid architecture. Personally I think it's the "sweet spot" card that Nvidia has been needing for a long time. I've read and watched pretty much every review of different models and I don't see the point in spending an extra $20-$30 dollars for a gaming version. My MSI Ventus version with it's two fan's overclocks just as good as any other model. $279 is a great price for the performance you're getting. The card trades blows with the 1070 yet in some cases it's right up there with it's bigger brother the 1070 Ti.

Like you I also had a 1060gb which is still a good card. But hell I sold mine on craigslist for $150 within a couple days making the overall upgrade only $130 dollars for 30%-50% increase in performance.. I'm sure I could have asked for more but I'm a generous man.

Yep, like pretty much all of AMD's GPU offerings.
Not all. There is some good cards on both sides.

If you play bf V alot, the vega56 still blows this card outta the water, and you still get 3 AA games for free, i agree totally uninteresting card..at this price point.

In FireStrike Ultra, my MSI Ventus XS is faster.....or at least gets a higher score than this Gigabyte card....

Yeah good luck finding a Vega 56 with the 3 free games at a decent price and decent quality. Just look at these great reviews! https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814932030 The Vega's are total crap and they're more expensive than a 1660 Ti.

Am I the only one bothered by how excessively large this GPU is? It doesn't even hit 125W and it's got a cooling solution fit for a 250W GPU. And yet, the noise and temperature levels aren't even that impressive. I'm sure you could chop off the 3rd fan and all the metal leading up to and get pretty much the same level of performance. But hey, at least it's a decent overclocker, for a reasonable price.

Well in the us maybey, in europe the nvidia's are more expensive, and mine works fine ty, undervolted it runs @ 61C and 1537mhz with 180w, eventhough its just a cheap gigabyte one 😉

The cooler on my Ventus XS is fairly small, but I haven't heard it's fans spin up yet....lol Doesn't really seem to take any real effort to cool a 1660Ti at all.

To me this card just screams volt-mod me! The vrm section is somewhat upgraded over most of the other 4+2 phase cards. It looks to me like it has 2 low and 1 high side mosfet per phase instead of a single integrated driver, so it should be able to deliver substantially more current that other 4+2 phase cards. I think the bios pretty much confirms this, as it is shipping retail with +42% power adjustment available. There is no other card on the market that I have seen with such a high power limit. You can find the retail bios for this card on the TPU bios database. With volt-modding in mind the cooler on this card makes more sense. It should allow cooling of an aggressively volt-modded and overclocked chip, where two fan designs may struggle or become noisy. If you aren't going to volt-mod it then this card is overbuilt and the cooler is too large. But for volt-modders it looks ideal.
