Why is this surprising? Remaster = the definition of double-dipping.

Going by that image the remastered is $30 (maybe 40 separate). Its the new CoD that's $80

Actually yes, you are correct. But lets be fair.. this series is not even double-dipping.. its octo-dipping and beyond at this point. Even battlefield now is up to 5.. how many of the same game can we get I wonder.

I suspect it's the sheep who keep buying the same game every year that are enabling them. Why not charge $80? (insert sheep sounds) On a side note, Activision is using poop to announce their game. The irony.

wow I thought COD is being remastered each year anyway. They won't improve graphics as it's more or less the same each year. It's better but not that much. I think it's time they hire people to design a new engine from scratch. A new better optimized engine will be much appreciated.

MW2 popped up on the XB1 bc list a while back and was then removed, i wonder if this now means we won't be getting it via BC, and instead will have to buy this remastered. Although i admit that the only COD game i would buy again if it were remastered would be WOW, not for the game but for the zombies, that in my view was the best version of any of the zombies games in all the COD games, never been beaten, getting that ray gun was like winning the lottery. lol

Cod4 mw could override Lod bias rigid/skined and no more popups + reshade sweetfx + forced AO and it doesnt look dated at all. Now Im really curious about this remaster.

I thought COD was developed on a slightly modified version of ID Tech engine using Radiant? And ID was bought by Bethesda Parent company "Zenimax"... ( not an Activision Engine if such a thing exists )

It's a custom version of the Quake 3 Arena engine isn't it?
