What skewed and meaningless results... First of all, they're polling 40 series users for modern results, and during that polling, the only 40 series cards available are ones powerful enough to justify DXR. The whole point of buying a high-end 40 series GPU is to do RTX and DLSS. That's like polling Lotus owners for how often they take their car to a track and using that as a metric for how popular race tracks are. Second, they're comparing the adoption rate to 20 series GPUs when they were new. Those GPUs were overpriced, their performance was all-around unimpressive, there weren't that many DXR or DLSS titles, DLSS 1.0 sucked, and the DXR titles that were available basically just did what rasterization could but at 20% the performance. Frankly, I'm shocked adoption was as high as Nvidia claimed. My point is, DXR and DLSS were doomed to be unpopular back then, so to act like what's going on with the 40 series is a success is kind of moot. I'm sure if they redid this poll including 20 series, 30 series, and models below the 4070, they would see DXR popularity drop considerably.

lol so more people turn on raytracing than dlss? Can we see if people even turn of frame generation or thats something controversial becouse its the selling point for these 40 series card.

many rt games do not have dlss, as amd tends to block it in games they sponsor. easy enough to figure out why the dlss number is lower than rt.

*sigh* More marketing BS.... especially the comparison to the 20 series Turing cards: Back in the day a) games did not support ray tracing to try and turn it on, so people simply couldn't, and b) DLSS wasn't available in the beginning, just like RT, and it was not as usable as it is now. I hope some bored guy in the US just sues them for talking BS.

Gaming is quite simple with rtx4000 series, turn everything to max + max RT + DLSS + Frame Generation and start gaming 😀 Back then with 3090 I need to turn down some RT settings with 4K DLSS Balanced in order to maintain >60FPS (CP2077, Watch Dogs Legion, The Ascent, Dying Light 2, Hitman 3, The Medium, Ghost Runner, etc...)

Well yeah when the 2xxx series launched you could count on your fingers the games that where using dlss and etc , now there are plethora of titles.

This is a bit like counting cattle as they enter the abattoir and then stating cattle love the abattior. Lol

@hijodeosiris i see a lot of very popular games on your list .... and that was not my point ... my point was that yeah....no shit more people will use rtx since when the 2xxx series released there was almost nothing to even enable rt on ! 😏.

I'm using FSR 2 wherever it's available, and if I had Nvidia card I would definitely be using DLSS (2) as well. The thing is, after the initial 10 minutes of pixel peeping in a new game, one tends not to care anymore about the artefacts introduced by these reconstruction methods. The increase in performance is a lot more noticeable than a few ghost lines here and there. -- RT on the other hand is a different story... my card runs RT titles just fine (even if at slightly lower performance than price-equivalent card from nvidia), but ... bleh, RT doesn't look good today. It's quite obvious that it's just slapped onto the classic rasterization, and no matter how much developers are trying to hide this mix of technologies, it's just not... realistic. Maybe when that new path-traced mode will be more widespread in a lot of games and cards which everyday joe can afford can render it with decent performance, I'll start caring about RT. But we're still several years away from that ... if even the mighty 4090 has abysmal performance in that mode. In the mean time I'll keep my 4K 100-120fps with FSR2 and classic rasterization, thank you !

I`m amazed that people use and like DLSS/FSR so much, specially those with high end cards. Even more curious is that i must be one of the few guys that uses downscaling features (DSR/VSR). I hope Nvidia and AMD don`t abandon those features because so few are using them...

You can use DSR together with DLSS, though DLAA would be much better.

4K 120Hz is hard to drive, yo ! Blame LG for making such an awesome display panel (and getting even better with new generation OLEDs that can do 240 Hz) But maaan, I love the smoothness of 120fps, every time when some setting is wrong and the game renders at 60, I immediately feel that something is wrong and the game feels laggy.

Strange, shouldn`t the two be mutually exclusive considering they offer the opposite effect of each other? đŸ˜±

I agree on that part, i also have a 34 UW high refresh rate screen (144hz) and i know how hard it`s to drive the frame rate above 100Hz, the main reason why i decided to get a new GPU. But my screen stock resolution is only 2560x1080, too small for such a big screen, so i have to use downscaling to use 3440x1440, this way games look amazing but they become demanding. So when needed, i just drop some settings so i can reach an higher frame rate, isn`t this simpler than using DLSS/FSR?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/268/268248.jpg
@H83 dlss can run at your screen's native 2560x1080 upscaled it to say 1440p then downscale it back to 1080p so in the end you would be doing what you do now with out almost any performance penalty.

I turned on ray tracing in PoE with my RX 6800. I guess i count in the ray tracing adoption rate stats ...

Never knew PoE has rt support. It was a long time since i played it.

Well now, I wonder if nVidia mentions, how long people keep it enabled? 😉 I only do so every now and again, but it's too taxing on hardware for high FPS gaming. 🙁
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/132/132389.jpg
Even with a 4090 it's not always practical to have RT on if you want reasonably stable 1% lows that are high enough... or sometimes just high enough FPS on average.
Legacy-ZA:

Exactly, those stats are utterly worthless. They're counting every single person that ever so much as turned it on for a moment just to see the difference.
