Prices still are above MSRP , so more profit for the stores i guess.

A case of too little, too late.

Just like with the free games included this only effects higher end cards. Why nvidia?

Undying:

Imagine a plan to sell the 3060ti at the reduced price and three free games? Now that gamers would/should buy.
That was normal, some years ago.

We're moving in a better direction. The ampere is still a monster card to own. Of course the GPU does the majority of the workload but when coupled with the right processor and 32gb or higher of great RAM, the benefits are very nice. My system is 2 years old and runs just as fast as the day I purchased it. This 3090 plows through 99% of my games and 100% of my work apps. There's a few games that will give it a challenge @4k or higher but for the most part, its a great card. Hopefully we'll see another drop when the 4000 series release.

Free? lol, no, they were never free. they were used to push GPU prices higher.

All the cards the majority is not interested in, well done.

now they just need to drop prices where it matters from the RTX 3050 to the 3080 everything needs to drop 50-100$ currently cheapest 3050 for me is 440$cad (335usd) pretax add 13% on top which is still stupidly overpriced and the entire stack is still this way

Indeed. Far too little, far too late. We've waited this long to upgrade just keep holding out and let them suffer. In the meantime I'm going around on all the marketplace apps trolling people with $450 offers on all the 3090's. 😀

Cards that majority people are interested in are still above msrp.

These are the least selling items in their lineup. Prices reduced from exorbitant to semi-exorbitant. They need to understand their milking days are over.

These guys RAISED MSRP above normal levels AND took scalping miner profits so it would be discounted by 50-60% OFF MSRP to offset the consumer balance sheets. I hope the glut kills them for what they did. Shareholders already bringing out the noose, pitchforks and torches when its going down nearly 5% in a day... And those reports of miner profits that cannot be recovered next round... oh boy... bloodbath coming... I see RTX 4x0x series needing to align prices to gamers and consumers again to keep that gravy train rolling...

If you look around you'll see that the lower end cards are also coming down in price. Not to MSRP levels, but with custom cards the price is always higher than NVIDIA's MSRP price. Since Best Buy is the only place that seems to offer Founders Edition cards and they seem to be out of stock at the moment, it's hard to gauge whether you can get those at MSRP (though the Best Buy website lists them at MSRP, just without any stock). But for instance, an RTX 3060 12 GB is available from EVGA for 429 dollars right now (they do have one listed for 399 dollars, but that one is out of stock). And Best Buy does offer the PNY - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB XLR8 Gaming REVEL EPIC-X RGB Single and Dual Fan Graphics Cards for 384.99 dollars and 389.99 dollars respectively.

With RTX 3080 Ti , RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 TI at X2 ,X3 and X4 (and even X5 for some version) the RX 6950 XT's price, this is the only thing to do. But maybe too late, i just read yesterday that NVidia sale suffer a lot from the huge number of 2nd hand GPU that are at grounded price... It's the boomerang effect of crypto... It's good for us anyway.

^^ Yup, the 6950 xt is $999-$1099 on most models on Newegg USA.
