Very interesting move on Nvidia's part. I wonder if they are going to beef these cards up like a 900 series card should be vs 700 series.
Corrupt^
Guess I'll be waiting for the 1070GTX or 1080GTX then 🙄

ROFL, and with higher part numbers come higher _________?
I love the buildup to GPU releases, they are always fraught with a truckload of manure.

Just another name for the same product. Too tired to get excited.

Huum, i really dont know how reliable their infos are .. Well maybe Nvidia could call them 900 finally, but they dont skip anything outside the name. ( for what we care lol )
As for the R295x... i absolutely dont see where they get that.. if it is based on this old unfaithfully rumor that the 290x have some hidden shaders disabled.. good luck, this was a pure fake. There's no disabled part on Hawaii chips.
The R9 285 and possibly the 285x are based on Tonga, we can imagine that initially it should have been released after Hawaii as middle end gpu.. ( Well the Tonga name is known since a long time and is present on CodeXL since a while ).
I really dont see on what could been based on hypothetical R925x.. AMD is working on their next series, who should be based on Pirate Island, but for now they keep all really well secret.

I just realised, because of such re-numbering, I could possibly claim to have jumped from nvidias 5xx to the 9xx cards. It just reads different I'd say 😀

New names and numbers do not make a crap GPU any better.
