Best in its price class for gamers that enjoy the latest features and tech.

Maybe, but let's not forget a GTX 1080 was "latest features and tech" when it launched and it started at $599, and was dropped to $499 when 1080 Ti launched.
Also a 256-bit card, full chip (not cut, like the 4080 Super is now)
I just can't stomach $1000+ GPU (1100€ or more around these parts), it's highway robbery.

Undying
Here it starts at 1125€ for the Trinity and Ventus 3x. Around the same as OG 4080.

Great review @Hilbert Hagedoorn , on point.
It's a Meh... at best product. I think the only one worth it of the Supers is the 4070 Super in my humble opinion.

Still too expensive, but I guess a "step" in the right direction. Too little, too late some would say. I would still rather go for a 4090 if I were to buy a GPU, since it's still the "best" bang for buck...

4080 super is selling like crazy here in Norway. It's selling more than every AMD gpu combined, it looks like
Almost every 4080 super is sold out, and the stock was actual pretty high.

Why are some people so butthurt that other people think this card is a decent enough deal? I'm seeing a bit of what nizzen is seeing here too, several models that had very decent stock are now sold out. It looks like people were waiting for this price drop and have made their move.
Personally, I'm still in the "too expensive for what it offers" camp, but obviously for whatever reason the market feels differently. I suppose the expectation is that the next gen will neither be cheaper nor a significant enough advancement to make these cards immediately obsolete - and twelve months is twelve months. That's a lot of gaming.
