Of course reviews are important, even for this card, day one. Stop defending companies that care nothing about you. Neither nVidia, nor AMD, nor Intel care that much for their costumers. So why do you bother defending something like this.
I'm not defending anything. What I am against are idiots like Walton/HUB trying to make a big issue out of virtually nothing.

You are siding with nVidia on a bad action done by nVidia, against consumers. Seems you don't understand how bad it is to have poorly informed costumers. At least, on the part of the consumers. For these companies, the less informed the better.

It is a big issue. Expecting how something is going to perform versus knowing how something performs is important and essential in making an informed choice - and it is more important now than ever, particularly due to scarcity of this resource. Defending this Nvidia nonsense is a very strange hill to die on, but hey, you do you.

It will make zero difference to buyers. If they dont like the card, they can sell it next day in an instant with a profit. If I knew what it was selling for, and if I could afford, it I would buy it without a day 1 review. All I need to know is its not going to perform less than a 3080.

I don't think anyone is saying they wouldn't want day one reviews - i think what people are saying is that it's not that controversial. There's been releases in the past that didn't get day one reviews with massive press launches, etc - so why suddenly with this release does it matter? The driver is out, anyone can review the card right now. If you're a buyer just wait till the reviews come out before slapping down $1000 on a card?

Thing is, some ppl (Like Walton) are presenting this as a conspiracy. I doubt Nvidia would have anything to gain out of this. But because its NV, they must be up to their old 'shenanigans'. And of course Walton/HUB click-bait viewers to hell from the title.

I would like to know msrp of this thing.
lol no you wouldn't anyway, pcgh did an estimation, 5% faster than 3080 https://www.pcgameshardware.de/Geforce-RTX-3080-12GB-Grafikkarte-278116/Specials/RTX-3080-12GB-Test-Review-Benchmarks-1386939/ PASS 2.3 the real deal is the driver that is coming out on 14th
Horus-Anhur:

Also remember that this is not the first card with this strategy. The 2060 12Gb was also released with no reviews. And no MSRP, so they can increase the price without any pushback. nVidia makes great products, I have bought plenty of their cards ever since the TNT2 Ultra. But, damn, they treat costumers like sh*/t.
who are their customers in the first place it's not gamers the whole 30 series have been made for miners

Wait i was not aware they ever stopped those ! Also the 308012gb will be faster has 2 extra cuda clusters enabled and 64 bit wider memory bus it will be slightly faster than the 10g one for certain.

dang and the OG 3080 would have been such a steal at it's MSRP.

I don't know the MSRP but in shop it is at RX 6900's price around 1600 Euro for a "normal" one (the ASUS is around 2000 🙁 )... The good point is that there are stock of it...

Love my 1080Ti. The gpu p'ricis(get it? lol) brought me out of the gpu rat race, with current AAA games(a lot being crap) im happy enough with current performance. Of course will be an issue if my 1080Ti dies but i think ill move to console if that happens/gpu prices dont return to normal.

Didn't HUB have a giant beef /falling out with Nvidia some time back anyway? And don't they now cater mostly to value / budget gamers?

Yeah, but whose fault was that? Bear in mind, HUB has trashed AMD cards as well, so they're more even handed in their reviews.....unlike some nVidia shill sites.

Arguably no fanboy can take criticism really.

What I believe most likely reason for driver delay was last minute fine tuning to eke out best performance in the benches. But some sites saw it as a good opportunity to generate more traffic with grand conspiracy theories. And some ppl lapped it up and threw all common sense out the window. 🙄 An early review is out. Some YT site got hold of early leaked driver and published results. The card falls about halfway between the 10gb model and the Ti.
