@kings But after a few months we may see a fall in prices.
Why would we do that? nVidia has no need to cut prices or e-tailers have no need to cut prices simply because there is no competition whatsoever. The price of 2080Ti or 2080 has not been lowered by a single cent since the release three months ago.

BlackZero:

It just works.
And therefore you should: "Just Pay!" On other hand. RTX 2060 seems to be most valuable of RTX cards. It is cut down RTX 2070. 16,7% less RT cores; 16,7% less Tensor cores; 16,7% less TMUs; 25% fewer ROPs. And 13,5% smaller TDP. While shown clock is 2% smaller, I expect it can be overclocked to compensate for loss of all those parts except ROPs. But 48 ROPs is a lot anyway. And that OC can be evaluated at same TDP level. Overclocking 2060 to point it eats as much energy as 2070 will likely make it between 5~10% worse only. Therefore one can have at same TDP almost same card for either $599 or $350.

Maddness:

Yeah I found that interesting as I thought Ray Tracing and DLSS couldn't be run at the same time. It looks like they have found a way or the initial information regarding this was wrong. It was a nice performance jump. Would have liked to have seen that on running on an RTX 2080 Ti.
DLSS and RTX use different parts of the GPU. DLSS uses the Tensor cores, RTX use the RT cores. They are very different and specialized. Tensor does AI, RT does ray tracing. There's no reason why they could not be run at the same time.

Like others have said before me, it´s too expensive! Nvidia´s 2xxx series are simply overpriced. We really need AMD to step up their game otherwise...

Nvidia has no interest in being disruptive in price/performance, they have the dominance of the market. That work has to be AMD's, since it´s they who desperately need to increase their market share. Nvidia is in the same position that Intel has been in the past 10 years before Zen. Unless AMD offers something "game changer" on GPUs like Ryzen have been on CPUs, Nvidia has no interest in brutal performance increases or charging lower prices!

Of course we all want better prices, but... It's funny that a Vega 56 for $350~$400 is considered a great deal, but an RTX 2060 with the same performance for $350 is overpriced! Internet logic!
If you use compute... Vega 64 has 25,2TFLOPs of FP16 => double of RTX 2060 Vega 64 has 12,6TFLOPs of FP32 => double of RTX 2060 Vega 64 has 0,7TFLOPs of FP64 => 4 times of RTX 2060 Moment AMD updates drivers for DX-R...

People play games, not specs on paper! If GPU A offers equal performance in gaming than GPU B, i couldn't care less which one have more TFLOPS.

Well said. @Fox2232 Amd is only hardware specs and numbers since ATI 2900xt. In real world applications Nvidia prevails. Never saved the day in the end for the red camp. Learn from history.

Even more. NVIDIA has so many loyal fans that it should increase the price of the entire 20xx series of cards by $ 200. They simply are wasting their profits. If people are delighted that after three years, the new series offers the same performance for the same price as the previous one, they will certainly pay even more;)

Anyone know the price range for lower 2060's 3/4gb variants?

I expect 90$ less for 3gb variant and 60$ less for the 4gb variant.

this 2060 may be a good card in it's own right, but at $350 there are many other options. especially if you wait five days for the AMD announcement. Nvidia loves to hog the limelight and right now they are desperate after losing 40% of their value. so they announce cards early (stealing thunder) and make their speech at CES a "keynote" when it isn't. the Keynote address is Lisa Su from AMD. i love Nvidia, i've been buying butt-loads of gpu's from them (five 10xx cards for me and family, three 9xx cards, 2 4xx) so i'm not a hater. but when they (Nvidia) do silly shit i will call them out as i do Intel and AMD.

It is still better than any mid range card of AMD's offering, take example of 590 RX. You pay 20~25% more money for 40~50% more performance with RTX 2060.!

AMD will probably react and cut the prices even more. Nvidia still dont have nothing to compete with 570/580/590 until we see those cut down 2060's with less vram.

The 2060 continues the trend of the RTX series - performing one level above the prior generation but also with pricing one level above. We have essentially come to a standstill, and those consumers who waited for a faster card for their budget will be sorely disappointed. I really have no idea who Nvidia is targeting here. This isn't a mid-range card, and you can get a second-hand 1070/Ti for cheaper. It's just a bad deal overall.

1070ti/1080 are old and do not offer new capabilities. So bad investment. RTX 2060/2070 anytime. Like 2080 is much better option than 1080ti. Like 2080ti is much better option than Titan Xp. Prices are were they should be. They will only get down when AMD offers something new.

They will likely still perform the same, and game performance is all that matters. The fact is that you can get a prior generation product that performs similarly for a lesser price, which means the 2060 is an automatic fail. What people look for in a new generation of cards is better performance for the same/less price; if the new card offers the same performance for the same price then there is no point.
data/avatar/default/avatar34.webp
It is officially reviewed and faster than Vega 56. Meaning price is OK. Stop your nonsense people. You want AMD Vega and you hate RTX mid-range series. Stop the racism/fascism against green camp.

Too expensive, just like the rest of the lineup. IMO, the prices should look like this. RTX 2060: 279 US
I agree this is too expensive, but I assume the 1160 might be closer to $279. A lot of what you're paying for here is the RT cores and 1070 performance on a mainstream model.

I wish I could agree with you, but if what you said were true, Intel and Nvidia would see a lot less revenue. A lot of people buy the product with the bigger number(s) because they're bigger.
