How nice. I got some worthless Overwatch 2 license code with my 4070.

Same story as always... inflate prices of GPUs for 150€, give away a 80€ game key. Success? Let alone that you'll probably be pulled in to buy season passes which will end up to probably 200€ until you get fed up with the game... just saying.

It is a little strange when you think about it, because obviously this would cut into their profit margins just as much as lowering the price would, even though lowering the price would be appealing to practically everyone. When a GPU comes with only 1 game to choose from, it seems rather pointless since you would likely already own it or you have no interest and wouldn't play it anyway. So, the only thing I see out of this is just simply gatekeeping: Nvidia wants to maintain a premium status, where not just anyone can own their card, or to simply maintain the higher price tag. Nvidia would rather "add value" than to admit they overpriced the card.

I think you got Nvidia's motivation just right there. But I also think ActiBlizz's intent here is to do what I noted, give away "cheap" keys (mind you, they still get a minor sum for every GPU bundle sold). And even if just a fraction of the buyers buy those SKUs, and another fraction of those buys DLCs / ingame currency / the monthly pass, they probably still make a tiny profit.

Wasn't there a price drop for the 4090s? If you got the reduced price you could just buy the game. Personally I'd rather have the money than a jaw breaker that charges by the layer.

Yes' I've bought it at at a pretty hefty discount but still, I don't like THAT feeling of entering Nvidia van and discovering there is no candy....

Call and ask if you can get a code anyway. I just did and was promptly told to fuck off, but I'm in Canada, being told to eat shit and die is the standard here even if you regularly spend thousands of dollars at a store.

Europe is worst trust me...we don't even get to buy the founder edition here for example - at least I didn't find one - but thanks I will do that - it costs nothing after all.
