I hope AMD doesn't go the same way, sure I'm expecting RDNA3 to push the envelope as well, but not to such a ridiculous power requirement. Still, it'd be interesting to see power and performance of both nVidia and AMD next iteration of cards. Been reading that the RX 7700 XT would soon be tested and that it's expected to outperform my RX 6900 XT.
i seriously doubt RDNA 3 will have the same power envelope as Nvidia as some units are on a smaller node than Nvidia's next gen and AMD is awesome at performance per watt. that said, i bought my 6900xt recently because it was finally @ MSRP. i may like a more powerful card, but i certainly don't need one. and yeah it's freaking amazing that a 7700xt would top a 6900xt, with two models better than that.

I really really really hope AIB's will continue to use standard pcie power plugs, rather than nvidia's stupid 12 pin, just like they did with the rest of the 3000 series.
I'm sure they will.....would it be 3x8 pin connectors?...or more?

3 would still be enough, like on my 3090 strix 🙂

A new rumor just surfaced. NVidia will also be bundling a nuclear power plant with the GPUs.

They could have atleast spend three more dollars on cable length so the plugs can be hidden underneat the PSU shroud...

Wow!....you mean to tell me it takes a lot of power to power the most powerful graphics card in the world! duh The next thing you'll tell me is that it takes a lot of power to power the fastest computer processor in the world! duh

the whole point is that you wouldn't need the grill, you just put your meal on the GPU and it gets cooked very fast and with all the juices!

Thank you Nvidia for an overpriced overclocked to oblivion 3090 to make sure you keep the performance crown before the Radeon refresh drops in! Happy now? 😛
Why yes, yes I am.. 😀

This part is moot, I've been hearing that with RDNA3, AMD may take the performance crown....we'll have to wait and see.

Considering their turbo-asshole prices, it better be included. Reminds me of how they charged for 40GB of RAM on the 3080 and delivered 10 instead. That was the first time I ever downgraded my VRAM capacity, thanks for nothing you leather jacking abusing fuck.
