Yeah I didnt know anyone who had anything expensive on that list past a saturn (the last 3 are clearly wrongly placed). You must have been mega rich to get a neo geo or 3DO, i don't think ive even seen either of those two.

btw eurozone price is (for now) 329 Euro alone and 309.99 Euro special edit with Zelda (yes less expensive with Zelda ???).

Read the bottom.
"Comparing the price of every game console with inflation."
scatman839
Yep, inflation plus launch prices.
Everyone is giving this shiite for being expensive at launch when in reality, it's not.
What it is though, is expensive in comparison to the 2 consoles out right now. Though this is replacing the 3ds and wiiu at once (regardless of how much nintendo says it's not, at most expect a small screen version)
edit, what I find amusing in this pc orientated forum, is that people will be happy to spend $400 on a gtx 1080 or whatever that they dont quite need but balk at $300 at a new console for exclusive games.
KissSh0t
It is close to 500 dollars in Australia.

No proper console again, competing ipads and phones, recycling hardware that no one wanted (nvidia shield)... recipe for success!.

I'm sorry.... but if you're going to talk some serious bullsh*t about something, at least make the bullsh*t believable. For one, ANY game that is a gigantic sandbox will have pop-in to a degree. But watching even the first minute of this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=310PF8ctRTM
What pops in? The blades of grass? A shrub here and there? a few explosive barrels? You're talking about it like it's a No Man's Sky level of pop-in... where entire pieces of landscape drastically change and sometimes appear right in front of your ship.
Now consider the fact that you can seamlessly take that exact same experience with you wherever you want to go. Not a dumbed down version. Not a "Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified" PS Vita-esque version. The exact same thing you're playing on your TV. You might say that just means it's not a home console, it's a handheld platform. I say it's both. Yes, there would probably be very few instances where i'd be inclined to take my Switch with me, personally... but when i want to, i have the ability to.
"They are the most stupid and redundant company today." How? Some explanation would be nice there. And don't even give me that "It's always the same games... Mario, Zelda, etc..." BS.
"They simply refuse to cater to the hardcore gamer." Uuhm.... I think the idea of them creating a gaming system that can be both an at home console and portable handheld, that has enough going for it that Bethesda is porting Skyrim over to it (which looks quite nice as well)... kinda makes that point moot.
And i just have to say.... "diehard" my a**. Someone who actually knows anything about Nintendo wouldn't talk about image quality. Nintendo hasn't BEEN about image quality. They've said ever since the Gamecube that they're not out to compete with Sony and MS. Graphics don't have to be ultra-realistic to be beautiful. Gameplay is more what Nintendo is about... and i don't think anyone can deny that their games are a blast to play. You're even agreeing with that by the fact that, even though you loathe their design choices, you decided to "obtain" (Since talking about piracy is forbidden in these forums last i remember) every single game from the WiiU, and enjoy playing A Link to the Past. But i'm sorry.... better than anything Nintendo will ever have going for its back catalog? *Cough*Ocarina of Time*Cough*
TLDR: Reading a single post from you on the subject of the Switch, even implying that you were in some way at some point a "diehard"... seems akin to someone taking their 1996 Honda Civic, slapping a fart can muffler on it, and saying they're an "Automotive Performance Enthusiast".
What is with people seeing something they don't like.... finding somewhere people are talking about said thing they don't like... and then feeling like everyone just HAS TO HEAR THEIR DISLIKE! If you don't like it... just move the f*ck along. UGH! I'm SOOOO glad real life isn't like that. At least... the vast majority of it isn't.

Looks like a really impressive hand held console, but a hugely compromised home console.
I'll probably get one once some bundles start to arrive and we get some games that aren't Wii U ports.
