People need to grow a pair of balls and stop being offended by every little thing. Hollywood and the entertainment industry wants to cancel people like me, but I cancelled them years ago. DEI can kiss my arse.

Racism isn’t a little thing, and this isn’t about Hollywood.

Oh yes it is. You need to watch real news and not that fake crap on cable and satellite.

From reading the article this appears to be an upper management and management issue. The article spoke of theft/shrink. This is usually due to sloppy inventory controls, outdated software, poor training and poor hiring practices. The coaching process and disciplinary steps must be taken to hold your team accountable for mistakes and negligence. Thorough investigations and procedure changes must take place when there are shrink/theft occurrences. The article describes this as an ongoing problem. Discrimination is prohibited and anti-discrimination policies are enforced in most workplaces. When this type of culture continues on the job, this is because it is allowed. My current employer does an excellent job when ignorance and negligence is purposely done. Conversations and written documentation are executed with diligence when needed. I have a wonderful workplace because of the coaching and great people on my team. Understanding differences is a growing and learning process for many of us. I have to call myself out for two angry outburst on this forum recently. I truly needed to check myself and should've backed off the keyboard.

The bigger question is, what happened that we do not know of. Because unless the "stock discrepancies" might be the real issue after all. I mean, it at least would be some kind of motive for people to steal if they don't get paid, but yeah... it's probably a large shit show in many ways.

Many people misunderstand the word 'discrimination', even online dictionaries lean towards race, religion or culture where its not necessarily the case. How about discrimination based on competency? A friend of mine wasn't selected for a task due to his good looks, another friend faced a similar situation due to being ugly as f**k, for the tasks concerned this is completely acceptable. I missed out on a task due to my culture, another due to skin colour, again completely understandable when the context of the specific task is considered.

So if this company, which seems to have problems, sinks, can GN be thanked or blamed for the final lose of jobs and suppliers not getting payed while EK hides behind bankruptcy laws? Edit, I may be an ass, but the initial story should have just been a one minute read thru article, but you know....

Any kind of ISM be it: Racism, Ageism, sexism, anti -semitism and so on. The Ism bit basically means false science. With that in mind and with brains and mouth in gear, we should be good to go, to defend our selves from the pseudo moralists who deliberately misinterpret scientifically accurate statements about so called minorities.

@Conan The Barbarian My fellow Guru I agree with you and disagree. In my personal opinion, I do feel that parts of society are far too critical and over sensitive. In fact, some of the crap I've seen is ridiculous. This many times creates more vitriol and resentment than solutions. The cancel culture is indeed outrageous, and I don't agree with it. I also don't agree with screams of "WOKE" just because someone of my skin color gets selected. So many stones are being cast from others with glass houses. It seems that you and I are different in view but have similar opinions as well. I was raised in a toughen up and work hard family. Maybe we're close in age? In regard to the workplace, I've experienced and witnessed racial, cultural and appearance/weight ignorance happen to several people due to the color of skin and misunderstanding of culture. Often times we hear about this happening to people of color like myself due to history. What about when it happens to Caucasian people? Years ago I worked in retail. I witnessed a longtime colleague and friend receive some of the most hateful threats and disgusting insults from customers. When multiple numbers of us reported the hateful incidents, the company chose to look the other way because it was from customers. I also seen this man get overlooked because of his weight even though he was brilliant and one of the team's best. The position requires intelligence and good judgement. Not athletics. The lack of empathy and discriminatory practices from upper management caused low morale, which eventually leads to people leaving or just not giving a damn about the job. Workplace discrimination is real fellow Guru. It can happen to anyone, and it cuts deep.

It is the job of journalists to report on issues brought to their attention. Should other media not report on other companies who are ripping people off, because that may also affect their suppliers and employees? Where do you draw the line? I realise that you have a personal problem with GN (and you may very well be right, I don't watch enough of them to have an opinion), but that shouldn't blind you to the fact that such practices should be exposed, and while there may be fallout, ultimately the industry will be better off in the long run. Companies fail all the time, EK isn't special in that regard. While I can't speak for the US side of things, in most EU countries employees are secured creditors. If EK were to go bankrupt and into liquidation, it's very likely their former employees would be the first in line to get paid. Unfortunately, their suppliers would likely end up holding the bag - but that is a business risk that you have to take into account. I too have had my share of invoices go unpaid. Some things have gone into litigation, some weren't worth the cost and effort. C'est la vie.

Understandable my friend but the article spoke of hateful practices in the workplace specifically. In regard to the jobs you weren't given, can you elaborate? If you had the knowledge and skills, why were you not selected due to your culture?

Many of us realize that with using it among ourselves, it has created a bigger problem and opened a whole new can of worms. Whether it's ended with an "a" or "er" there is no difference. Slang, Street, Rap and Hip Hop culture were infused with it. Many African Americans already knew and are realizing that this slur never should've been embraced. The "Term Of Endearment" argument and the Jay - Z "Depowering philosophy" has always been a load of nonsense. Sadly, there are also many Black people that disagree with my statement. Whether it's with an "a" or "er", if the word or any other slur is said in most workplaces, this will usually result in termination.

When i hear companies saying they all up for "diversity and inclusion" all i see i another failed company that going to disappoint its core-money-making fans and eventually become irrelevant.

There's no reason anyone at a water cooling technology company ever needs to say any racial slur while on the job. True for most jobs...Except maybe while Mel Brooks is writing a script.

Yeah and that is wrong, but many people misunderstand the word discrimination itself as it is often used incorrectly, certainly by the media, in the same way many dont understand the different between equality of opportunity and equality of outcome.
