Disappointing price points. It doesn’t look like older cards will get any discounts, then. I guess that was the intention. I’m not sure what the point of these cards is under these circumstances.

Just like I predicted prices for SUPER cards will be about 100€ lower than current models. But because they are so expensive now, this tiny price reduction will not be felt at all.

Lower? They are anywhere between €100 to €200 higher than current street prices of the models they're replacing. No one cares about an imaginary MSRP.

On the bright side - if you were holding out, now is probably the time to get a 4070Ti, seeing how they are not going to get cheaper, and likely will sell out.

I don't think anyone thought it would be cheaper, at least I don't recall any forum regulars posting anything like that. Most thought (hoped) they'd be slotted around current retail pricing for their immediate predecessors. It seems Nvidia doesn't consider these as direct replacements though, but rather as upgrades warranting a price bump. However, it's very likely that by summer these will end up at the same price points as the current lineup. I don't see them flying off the shelves at those prices, unless there is a significant performance uplift.

Well, it is, isn't it? 1000€ + VAT. The cheapest 4080 Super is in that ballpark. All € pricing is always net of VAT.

Meanwhile, I was thinking the 4080 was a dumb purchase compared to the 4090. As I said back when that was released - if you're going to spend 4 figures on a GPU for leisure, you're not on a tight budget and might as well go all-out.
