Not really a comparable situation, as personal computers were still in their infancy at the time. Today hundreds of millions of computers run a Windows Operating System. Not to mention that Windows 95's UI was an undisputed improvement over Win 3.x. Something which is not true for Windows 8

Undisputed? That would imply that the entire world thinks it was an improvement.....which is a rather false claim. I know quite a few people that would argue against the UI change in Win95....myself included. A UI change is a UI change....

i think they are gonna fix the metro thing with win 8, they were too lazy to make it right and decided to port the same tablet's UI to desktops

I understand a lot of people like the Metro/Windows 8 UI. I tried it. I don't like it. I understand it. I played with it. Ect. But I still don't like it. So, for my personal computer I stick to Windows 7. Simple as that. If I go to Windows 8 or Blue or whatever it will be after it gets picked apart and stripped down by someone/someplace. Even for Windows 7 a stripped down version was put together that made it fit on a CD. So relax. No propaganda involved. If I could simply remove Metro completly (which I don't get why MS makes you not be able to- even on W7 if I really want to I could make the UI look as if I'm using Win95) I would have upgraded.

Oh so no start menu eh? Well still Win 8 can be used in an office as long as microsoft do not do another ****ty move and remove the schedule task trick that boots you in the desktop, then i can just pin the most used applications in the taskbar and everyone from project managers to secretaries can use it. But not for my company, i will migrate to 7 and stick to it until microsoft wakes up or something better arrives

men, raelly!! win8 is here to stay if u like it or not, FACT. just becase u no longer have sart menu is no need to be crying! u will get used to it i swear, it is not htat big of a deal. nearly all these men who say they hate it WILL be using windows 8 an metro like normal in 6 to 12 months max withuot a doubt... THAT my men is obvious, it is always the same, they cry, then they conform and are happy liek everyone else. all 8 needs if u dont mind me sayins is a few mor color choices and it's more or less 100% poerfect
