I like it. Not a fan of IPS but the price is good. By the time Vega arrives it should be <$600 and I may consider it if a Vega variant can do 4k @ 60fps.

Finally a 4k monitor that makes sense. 42" is the perfect size for a 4k monitor.

I've seen similar posts like this many times in here, however - there is not such thing as the perfect size to resolution ratio, unless you incorporate distance from the monitor into the equation.

Too bad it's not ultra wide. Been looking for a BIG ultra wide to replace the triple monitor setup. 38" just isn't cutting it. May wait for the HDR monitors to really hit shelves before I make a decision.

This screen has freesync...seems like the perfect TV to pair with an Xbox one scorpio which also has freesync and is aimed at 4K

Freesync? Did you see the supported range?: 56 to 61 Hz http://www.anandtech.com/show/11310/lg-43ud79-b-launched
The peak refresh rate is likely 60 Hz for the Freesync, however LG does not specify the lower bound. Technically the specification sheet says 56-61Hz, although that is rather small for a FreeSync range.
http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/34a2b7d That's a Freesync joke. :eyes:
