*edited* I tried the Beta, you dont need to be logged into use it. but alots setting in CP are out right missing. Optimize "button" does really show what it optimizing, and pretty much look like GFE interface which i dont like to begin with. and it had ads too less i was hallucinating them ads If they kill the CP as in remove it for this. I will just use Nvidia inspector. Overlay in game could be use full Could be of use if it has OC/UC functions Certainly worlds faster then CP though, when it out beta i try it again but if i have to "logged in " with end product to use it or to to even see rest of "setting" that are missing that are in CP i wont touch it

It always shows "notification badge" for redeem tab. Annoying. EDIT: It disappeared when I relaunched the App. For some reason I can't activate 'RTX HDR'. I have 2 HDR monitors and 2x FullHD old tvs connected so it could be issue with having non-HDR screens too. EDIT2: Ah now noticed it says error. Asks to "disconnect additional monitors to use this feature". What?

Did you try removing the two other tvs?

Holy moly just found out that I can capture footage at 4K 120hz now with the new driver + Nvidia APP, that's awesome.

You can capture at like 500FPS with OBS using nvenc AV1.

I like how fast it is compared to sluggish old control panel.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/259/259186.jpg
It's fast and snappy. Shadowplay/Share is still outdated and lacks things. You still CAN'T record in 1440p on 1080p monitor, something like this is not a problem with OBS, Action on in AMD.

375fps is the limit if you actually want viewable/workable content.

Good enough :P

Wow what is happening with fellow Gurus? I'm dumbfounded by positive comments here. You really like this "web app" control panel? It looks like bloatware. Why is there games library with giant thumbnails? Why is there offers from Nvidia tab? Why are there ads? I can't stop facepalming.

But NVCP was fine even with its Windows 95 looks :P At least this app won't require an account, or maybe it will in the full version?

You do know you can disable the notifications and the "offers" are only if you want to sign in, which you now don't have too. All I see is my library of games and then some extra Nvidia apps (broadcast, omi, icat, etc) with quick links to download if you want/need them, I see NO ADS only an offer which is for COD if you log in. How is this bad? Why is it that people are against progression? We have had that old control panel for decades, not months or years, but DECADES. ATI/AMD have had like 5 redesigns in that time, some good and some bad and right now AMD have nailed their control panel. This Nvidia app is, simple, well layout, fast, and modern. Once all the features get added it will be a great piece of software. And people now wont need 5+ apps to get the most out of their cards.

So apparently there is some confusion going on. This is replacing Geforce Exprience only but not the Control Panel. Control panel itself is not going anywhere. Hopefully Nvidia will explain this better or some journalists can talk to Nvidia and figure out what's going on for sure.

Agreed, just like old ex Army types who say we should have kept bolt action rifles. Onwards and upwards, I hope the HDR for older games works better than Auto HDR.

Yes it will still be there, probably locked behind a registry edit. But it won't be actively developed further. Why spent time and money consolidating settings from multiple apps to then continue to support those apps? Other than maybe security updates don't expect any new features or settings. Quote:
The NVIDIA app beta is a first step in our journey to modernize and unify the NVIDIA Control Panel, GeForce Experience, and RTX Experience apps.
During the NVIDIA app beta, GeForce Experience and the NVIDIA Control Panel will continue to be available.

I only need control panel to give me precise control of hardware. I never used GFE and have no use whatsoever for this Nvidia App. I don't need games library or game optimizations or "best deals from Nvidia". Current control panel is like 8 megs. This bloated app is 130 megs installer. For what? They should make lite version of this Nvidia App, where you only have control panel functionality, without extra bloatware. I'd be fine with such app.

You are worried about 130 megs in 2024? Are you really that strapped for space? Also, maybe if you use the app feedback feature you can request a "lite" version. AMD did the same thing on their end offering a full, minimal, and driver only option. Nvidia could do the same where full gives you the app we have now, minimal gives you the old and slow control panel you love so much, and then driver only just installs the driver and no apps. I shall put in a request for you. The more people that do it the more chance it get included.

Well I'm not worried about 130mb of disk space, but I'm more worried what's hidden in those 130 megs. How many processes and telemetry services and things like that are packaged in there? What you described about AMD sounds like it's good compromise for those who do not need the full package. Right now we have option to install or not install GFE, do we not? So the way things are heading now, it seems like this choice will disappear (because everything will be bundled in Nvidia app).

Got to try this out - love it. Significantly better design than the old control panel, much faster. Once it's feature complete I won't miss the old panel at all. I don't know what all these other people are talking about. Aren't the Nvidia drivers like a gigabyte now? We are worried about 100 mb more of space? Such a weird thing to be concerned about.
