In retrospect an i7 920 would have done as well gaming wise on the time you kept it , except if you do render workloads or video etc .... In this case that thing saved you days in total!
yeah I was doing a lot of video encoding in those days as a matter of fact but I also had a lot more money as I had no wife or kid so I could buy pointless thing like that.

EK-Quantum Delta2 TEC 540$,EK-Quantum Power Kit Velocity² 360 778$ simple accessories for everyday use...
The TEC is not good at allcore loads it is for low core peak boost like game loads, the TEC element is too weak at 200 watts for something like Cinebench allcore even at stock speeds.

Intel is afraid of zen4 x3d needs to react fast.
Intel has no reason to be afraid of Zen4.... Without the X3D chips, Raptor Lake is outperforming Zen4. AMD needs to drop the "X" chips and just release a regular and X3D variant....

If I were looking for a long term (5yrs+) build, I'd jump on the 13500 or 13600KF personally but like you, I'd like to see reviews of the 13500. It's only a few % slower than the 13600 though.

Amd is doing just that. Watch the HU review 7600x > 13600k and dont to mention am5 longevity cant be matched. Raptor lake is the end of the line why even buy it? I will get 7600x which is just as fast then upgrade to 7800x3d or even 8600x without changing the board, win.
