The delay is fine with me. I don't see myself upgrading my CPU platform for about at least another 1.5 years as my 6900K is more than adequate. My next upgrade with be to a DDR5, PCIe 4.0 platform.

Intel is just optimizing their 10nm chips. I fully feel that They can/could sell 10nm chips Right now if they wanted to. Intels vast funding almost guarantee it. The 10nm chips they have right now...They are optimizing them. When Intel does release them, they will not be cheap. I don't think AMD will come close to them as for performance. The price is what I'm worried about. I just don't buy a CPU if it costs more that $250 U.S. unless it makes me happy in bed as well.
Intel IS selling 10nm chips right now, it's just that they cannot make anything bigger than a mobile Core i3 (without a functioning GPU part). It's obvious that they're having yield issues, making it impossible to produce bigger consumer and server chips without pricing them to the roof (customers would flee) or cutting into their margins (investors would flee). The performance of these 10nm chips is also inferior to their 14nm++ equivalent (lower clock speeds at same TDP, even with a non-functioning iGPU) so it won't immediately make them superior to AMD's 7nm chips - it's just the first step to getting beyond the limitations of 14nm.

Again. Refining What they "have". "trouble" is another word for "Not yet".
