So intel benches the e cores about on par to the 10th gen cores ...so those little cores seem really strong and lines up with the leaks about multithreading performance too ! Man am i the onlyone thinking a 16 core with just 16 ecores on 45 watts will be an insane cpu for laptops ? :P

Interestingly they show on par or a loss in some gaming benchmarks never seen intel doing that. Nevertheless it looks most impressive in orthers. Cant wait for your review Hilbert.

Tomb Raider was HEAVILY designed for AMD CPUs - its a known fact.... and Crysis remaster is 100% GPU bound so... Also notice its a compare to 5950x not intel last gen - where you can see its still much higher even in those games...

That is complete nonsense. Up until Zen3, Intel always won in Shadow of the Tomb Raider https://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=51803

Besides that, Crysis Remastered is typically CPU bound.

Too many variables to get a certain conclusion. Will wait for reviews and pay attention if all of them will apply the two Ryzen Windows 11 fixes.

1080p resolution testing ftw. 😀

Just typical for testing CPU bound scenarios. No biggie 😉

@tty8k lol, tell that to ppl already playing above 2k. "4K" playing doesnt mean i need to have maxed out settings @240fps and 2ms latency. im running ww2 from cod without any trouble on a 4k display with a 5800 and 2080S, completely ignoring older and/or less demanding games...

yeah need some actual reviews before I buy

People still game @ 1080p in 2021? I thought that was a meme for console gamers at this point? When do new shiny cpu's benefit 4k? I know, I know, testing cpu bound areas. Just seems silly at this point. I'm sitting on a 6700k cpu because the difference between it and what's out now has been negligible in 4k. I think maybe 5fps at this point. I've gotten more performance out of DLSS for free than I would buying a new mobo/cpu. The hardware enthusiast part of me wants to upgrade. I can't justify it no matter how hard I try. The only game to crap on my system maxed out in 4k was Cyberpunk and well....yeah.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did without advertising it on the disclaimer sub-text. The already found the apology being "the fixes weren't available at the time of testing" if anyone points that out after independant reviews. I am also "worry" about the efficiency of these CPUs and their temperatures.

A couple of things to consider about Intel's benchmarks. These tests were done on Windows 11, before the ryzen patch. These tests were done with VBS enabled.

How can you tell? Either way another reason to wait for Hilbert review.

Intel told reviewers. Steve from Hardware Unboxed explained this in his video. So did Steve (another) from Gamers Nexus.

We need third party reviews and they are not going to be as positive. The tech press I follow have all stated they were given these slide decks prior to the Windows 11 Zen patch being released so we know these are not good comparisons.

Finally...;) Finally an official announcement. It will be interesting to see reviews of AL with real shipping motherboards, etc. Four days later, AMD will be making announcements...will add to the competitive drama! I don't believe AMD has any plans to play second fiddle.

Even if the results weren't before the patch, they're still reasonable. The 12900K has higher boost clocks, is on DDR5, and Intel has typically had an edge when it comes to latency. So on a technical standpoint, the 12900K ought to have an edge in gaming regardless of the patch. Granted, it's a moot point because we're talking a few FPS when it's already in the hundreds. I'm sure the 5950X is an overall more powerful CPU, but that's just simply not going to show up in games. Frankly, the 12600KF ought to be more than good enough for nearly all games for several years.
