Yeah, I did. It's like they decided to leave the Polish market entirely to Intel.

Sure, some will order, other wont, i will. Right now any CPU is enough especially if you game in 4K Intel is smart, 2 generation for a socket is fine, what AMD does is nothing but populism, people that want more than just one CPU+one GPU + one SSD need to upgrade anyway. x370+x470 has PCIe Gen 2.0 from the chipset, lacked many new technologies like no USB 10gbps and few USB 3.0, had only 1 maybe 2 [shared] Gen 3.0 M.2 slot [because the chipset PCIe is gen 2.0] even x570 had a remake without fan and and some otehr fixes Lets not forget that AMD eventually couldn't add new CPUs to OLD bioses, they had no space. So what intel doing is fine by me, even z790 looks appealing for me it has PCIe gen 5.0 for the m.2, i think it has USB 4.0, it has Gen 4.0 lanes from the chipset [z690 has a mix of gen 3.0 and gen 4.0] , but ill stay with z690
It was you who said that nothing but a CPU swap was needed. That's what I reacted to. I have personally never got just a new CPU and installed it into my old mobo, so in that sense even if every CPU generation required a new mobo, it wouldn't have affected me at all. I always built a whole new system. That being said, I haven't upgraded my CPU every year. Like you said, in practice also on AMD's side the attraction of getting a new mobo on the AM4 platform must have been high. So, it's hardly different from Intel side's necessity to get a new one. It's just that theoretically one could have used all Ryzen gens before the current one on a single mobo. I'm sure someone did, out there.
