If the 13900K price is right, it will be a serious blow to the 7950X which costs a whopping 699$

It's funny how after all of this madness with nvidia, my brain was just expecting this to cost like $1099 or something.

I remember high end CPU used to cost more than high end GPU... now it's the other way around...

True, but then the Extreme Editions were sheer insanity, and no one in their right mind bought one (I don't know what I was smoking when I bought the 980X). It was something like $1300 in today's dollars. I'd never pay that much for a CPU now. I wouldn't even pay half that much. I can't believe Intel comes across as reasonably priced. What is the world coming to?

Those pries are actually not bad. I was expecting something higher. AMD might have to lower prices rather soon to better compete.

My 11700 Non-K last year was €320, the exact same price as my old 4770K from 2013. Intel is the new budget king.

hmm 13600F should be under 300 and 65tdp and way faster then my 6700k. if i where to build new pc that what i would be getting

Intel can't afford bad pricing right now. They have to be competitive. Still need to see Guru's reviews.

Looking at what AMD is asking for, it wouldn't be overly difficult for Intel to set attractive looking prices. I paid 360 euros for my 3700X, and now AMD is asking for just over 500 euros for 7700X, which is the equivalent 8/16 CPU from this gen. In fact it looks like you'd need to be lucky to get 7600X for the same price. It doesn't really look like AMD is trying to win more market share anymore. AMD's offerings are now also more hungry and hot than they used to be, so that argument is disappearing as well.

I checked my local prices, the 7900X is 34% more expensive than what I got the 5900X for on release day. I was already going to pass, but now I have 34% more reason to.

if i was a wfcctech troll i would say AMDoomed lol Seriously thou, ZEN4 just tad faster vs 12th gen intel, its like AMD is 1 whole gen late to the party, next month 13th gen comes out and AMD loses its performance crown Actually like Linus Tech Tips said, AMD loses to to the 3d cache zen 3 in gaming across all zen 4 CPUs, for gamers that doesnt look good, its cheaper to buy 3d cache zen 3 with ddr4 and cheap x570 mobo than going into ddr5 zen4 For intel users, all we need is just a CPU swap, i already have 64GB DDR5 6000mhz, its fine by me im not chasing speed to get 6400-69800 ram, i rather have MORE ram, like 128gb since even 64gb is not enough for web browser and i get frequent out of memory crashes

So why does Intel release their flagship CPU at 589/564$ and the first retailer listing it is already at 659/629$? VAT? Or are they just scalping light?

Did you see 7600x for 1750 lol 5900x is cheaper atm

Yeah, I did. It's like they decided to leave the Polish market entirely to Intel.

Both Intel and AMD are too expensive now, their prices are very similar. And both platforms are also too expensive. There`s no longer a budget option, apparently...

Look's like I won't be going AMD after all LOL!!! WOW!! I actually wanted to go AMD this time HAHAHAHA. I'm just going to get the 13700kf in 2-3 years finally go AMD unless Intel is still better.

AMD should have released only the 3D models, or released all of them at the same time, with the 3D models mixed in and carrying, at most, the prices we are seeing now, with the non-3D ones (that AMD released now) being cheaper. What comes to Intel users, why are you assuming 12th gen Intel users are going to upgrade to the 13th gen? Sure, those wanting the best every time will, but Alder Lake is perfectly fine for a number of years to come, so most people rocking 12th gen will stick to it. Knowing Intel, I'd be more than just amazed if Intel 14th gen didn't require a new mobo. AM5, however, might again serve 4 generations of AMD CPUs, though I have no idea if AMD has announced anything. It's possible some bigger technological change will force AMD to abandon AM5 sooner.

Is there any doubt that Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake will require a new board? I think it's all but certain. As for who is going to upgrade to RPL, there are plenty of people still on Skylake. This would be a good upgrade for them.

Sure, some will order, other wont, i will. Right now any CPU is enough especially if you game in 4K Intel is smart, 2 generation for a socket is fine, what AMD does is nothing but populism, people that want more than just one CPU+one GPU + one SSD need to upgrade anyway. x370+x470 has PCIe Gen 2.0 from the chipset, lacked many new technologies like no USB 10gbps and few USB 3.0, had only 1 maybe 2 [shared] Gen 3.0 M.2 slot [because the chipset PCIe is gen 2.0] even x570 had a remake without fan and and some otehr fixes Lets not forget that AMD eventually couldn't add new CPUs to OLD bioses, they had no space. So what intel doing is fine by me, even z790 looks appealing for me it has PCIe gen 5.0 for the m.2, i think it has USB 4.0, it has Gen 4.0 lanes from the chipset [z690 has a mix of gen 3.0 and gen 4.0] , but ill stay with z690
