Yes...don't hold your breath waiting on QC to overtake CC. Companies release these "breakthrough" PRs routinely for QC in order to stimulate investment. I haven't seen the QC yet that could rival--or even tie--a pocket calculator. QC is "spooky action at a distance", indeed. Does the quantum realm exist? Nobody knows. Everything that is being done is done on unproven theory that may yet prove false. It's a sort of interesting approach attempting to use classical engineering techniques to create a computer which operates in the quantum realm! Everybody's notion of that is a little different--half classical engineering (or more than half) & ideas about how to use silicon to count in the quantum realm. A real theoretical conundrum.

A little trivia. Back in the day IBM was the top tech company in the world. Still a behemoth with over 300,000 employees worldwide.
Inventions by IBM include the automated teller machine (ATM), the floppy disk, the hard disk drive, the magnetic stripe card, the relational database, the SQL programming language, the UPC barcode, and dynamic random-access memory (DRAM). The IBM mainframe, exemplified by the System/360, was the dominant computing platform during the 1960s and 1970s...
