Haha, that's weird for sure. I have an HP laptop, so I'd assume it has the app installed and I don't mind. My desktop has nothing from HP, my printer is Epson, so I'd certainly remove it.

Yep, turned up on my PC a few days ago and I have no HP products at all 😡 Uninstalled.

Sorry but this is a bit of a poor reporting. This issue has been happening to me as well and it took me a minute to figure out that the culprit is the OneNote app from Office 365. The app installs its own printer which clearly uses HP apis, which in turn installs the HP smart?? app. Uninstalling the printer and then the app solves the issue, but only temporarily. Whenever the Office 365 suite gets updated, you go back to square one.
