nice.... Finally, i was waiting for something like that.. on second thought.. really? why does this app needs to know my phone calls????

oh well...hating this permission overuse lately... i mean, dont get me wrong, im loving guru3d and cant say bad.. But why? and is it really neccesary? ive seen other forum apps, and they DONT wanna know my phone stuff, or other permissions besides internet access. would be nice if someone could explain in depth why these permissions are needed...

would be nice if someone could explain in depth why these permissions are needed...

I can tell you that there is no data ending up in our office whatsoever. Having raised this question months ago in the initial setup stages from what I understood from the developer the app need to know if your phone is about to ring. Likely to apply a save state (ie freeze what they're doing) for when the incoming call screen pops up, stuff like that. I'll drop them a note asking more detailed info okay ? Otherwise, if you are not comfortable with such permissions, then yeah by all means you shouldn't install the App.

ok, thanks a lot for the response. I also would be interested in a more detailed info, but if its too much work, im also fine with your word 🙂 i just dont like the overuse some apps do..like private information and so on..So im looking deeper and not just over read it.. Gonna test the app right away 😉 and thanks again for the response.. -BetA-

Well I tried it out now. The Youtube videos won't play. Galaxy Nexus using Cyanogen Mod 10, so Android 4.1.2. I should update to 10.1/4.2 but I'm too lazy to do that now. It usually requires re-installing a bunch of apps.
